This just gives me the "warm and fuzzies".....
“We’ve haven’t gone to the (Division II route),” he said. “At this point, I’m happy to have games. I’m happy to have someone from Division I to play.”
Bring on Alcorn St....woo freakin hoo.....
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

Newman would be more competitive than those guys. As well as Fort Hays, Emporia and Pitt.
If we're picking up horrible RPI drains then I will not be happy. We're better off not playing than playing those teams. We don't have a strong enough schedule to balance those out.

I don't completely agree. The Maui tournament alone -could- offset the 300 rpi's -- assuming we perform as well or better than we are supposed to. I think the schedule is there for us, even with cupcakes, but there isn't a ton of room for error. We gotta execute.

Hopefully, the schedule we have struggled with developing can get us where we want to go. This Seasons squad should execute consistently considering the solid depth and experience we have. Here are 7 questions that I am pondering right now of unknowns that will unfold as this Season progresses.
1. Are the Shocks a top 25 or a top 50 team?
2. If the Shocks do win the Valley race, will this be enough to get us to the Dance or must we win the Valley Tourney as well?
3. The Shocks are very tough at home. However, can they win the road games needed to be successful?
4. Will JT Durley make 1st Team All Conference or even POY as Paul Miller did his Senior Season?
5. Between Williams and Rags, will we be solid at the point guard position?
6. Who will emerge as our Shocker consistent leaders this Season?
7. Can our vast quality depth and experience in individual talent come together and play as a team that can truly win the Valley and make the Dance?
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Only if we beat UCONN
+1
Single biggest determinant of our postseason right now is not going to the loser's side of the bracket in Maui. If we don't beat anyone of significance there, our non-con isn't enough to guarantee a dance ticket in a one-bid Valley.

Yeah, that was my point. We have a good enough schedule even with a few cupcakes -- IF we make the most of it and execute. If we don't ... to bad, so sad.

The WSU entry on Basketball Travelers was updated Monday (Sept. 6). Still one game to go.
Now Dec. 7 has been eliminated from the list. Hopefully that's not a date that will live in Shocker infamy. (Actually, since the 8th is still open, maybe they have scheduled a Dec. 6 game?)

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'”
