  • Is there a deadline when we have to release our schedule? For some reason Im thinking Sept 15?

    • Still looking for a game as of 6 p.m. Monday.

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

      • Looking at that site, it's hard to imagine how any of the D-1 teams will connect, seeing as how everyone wants a single home game or to start a series at home.

        • Georgetown, Home and Home. Done.

          • Stupid DII Valley schedule keeps us from tossing in a home game against Mississippi State Jan 2, 3 or 4.

            • So what's so devastating about starting the home and home at their place?

Would you rather play Podunk U at home this year or one of the several listed BCS schools on the road this year and at home next year?

                • So they promised us a schedule release by September 15th. The chances for that to happen? Close to 0% maybe?

I realize the scheduling thing is tough but how come virtually everybody else in similar situations and stature is done? Shouldn't this stuff be planned a bit better?

We know virtually all of the games on the schedule, but I would kinda like an "official" release along with dates and times and tv situations kinda like the rest of our Valley brethren, who have had their schedules out for nearly a month now.

                  This is getting old.
                  Deuces Valley.
                  ... No really, deuces.

I tend to agree, but that would leave us with how many home non-con games this year? And how many of those will actually be worth seeing? They're trying to justify the annual increase in season ticket prices and cutting home games would not do that justice.

                    • As frustrating as it is to us, and I concede it is well beyond frustrating, I have to give them a pass on the scheduling thing.

I know for certain that there are schools that are on that list, that we have contacted and met every item the other school has wanted, and they still said no.

I am not saying that every team has been contacted and said no, and I am not saying that teams have called us and then we've turned them down (certainly a possibility).

I am just saying that it's harder than it appears to us. Scheduling takes far more time and effort than any of the coaches like.

Tough break about Mississippi State, which would be great from WSU's standpoint, but really -- come on, Doc, be nice. The Valley's schedule for WSU in that stretch includes games on Saturday (1/1) and Tuesday (1/4), which is pretty standard scheduling, especially for leagues that don't play on "Big Monday." So having those dates filled is just bad luck.

Besides, if (BIG, big, if) WSU really could get a date with MissSt (in Wichita, so as to minimize travel) on Monday 1/3 -- and the Shocks were willing to play three games in five days to do it -- don't you think the Valley and Drake might consider moving the Tuesday game to Wednesday? I can't imagine why either would object, especially Drake.

To be fair, the obstacle here is probably not with the Valley's schedule.

                        • Drake rents their barn. I'll wager that DII program couldn't change squat even if they wanted to, but I like the way you think. Other Valley programs should bow to our wishes.

I am just mad about the Valley in general. The schedule is what it is. We just have so many dead weight programs that don't belong in DI it is sickening.

Just once I'd like to see something go in our favor, something that wasn't all mamby pamby just being fair.

                          • The candy ass NCAA is responsible for this. Laissez Faire scheduling is anti-competition. Too many chicken&^%% wont man up to play us.

                            • Maybe it's a blessing in disguise. If we can't beg a Prairie View A&M to visit town and destroy our SoS, perhaps we'll settle for a Fort Hays State.

Same revenue (actually FHSU would probably be more), lower guarantee.

Plus it keeps the guarantee money in the state of Kansas.
