I think MikeShox was being sarcastic; I can find that at any time on ValleyTalk from CU or SIU fans. I thought an honest difference of opinion among Shocker fans was acceptable but perhaps I am wrong?

MG/SF: Smooth, he will be fine as he gets into the
System. Can score both inside and out.
RC/PF A warrior!! Absolutly incredible rebounder.
A scorer not a shooter, should never leave
the paint. (watch the tape of him putting
40 0n San Jacks .... he shoots 1 shot out
      of the paint.)
PT/C : On Paint player with D/1 experience.

Bench: GM, JT & AE will get most of the minutes
Did you watch Phil fail to hold onto rebounds and miss/drop passes last year? If Phil is our center, it's going to be a LONG season.

I hope I'm not reading too much into this, but Turgeon had Mekel on a pretty tight leash last year. Marshall and Mekel seem to have some disagreements about how Mekel should play the game.

If that continues, it will result in 2 coaches wanting Mekel to do something different than what he's doing.

Maybe Braeuer makes 3 times as many one-handed passes as Mekel. Braeuer's A/TO ratio over 3 years probably gives him some leeway in one-handed passes.

Mekel's weakness has been his TO's. If Marshall tells Mekel that his one-handed passes are part of the reason for his TO numbers and Mekel disagrees, then there's a question of whether Mekel is "coachable".

Mekel could be tha last holdout for buying into Marshall's plan. It's a while until the season starts. There's time. First impressions are hard to shake. Braeuer is the starter.
It sounds to me like you are inventing a bunch of problems that may not exist. Marshall vs Mekel?? Mekel vs "coachable"?? Let's wait and see what happens.

          My opinion:

          PG - Matt
          SG - PJ
          SF - Mantas
          PF - Clemente
C - Thomasson, but will be replaced with Durley if not too GM's satisfaction.

          2nd line:
          PG - Gal/Preadom/Hatch/Michaels
          SG - PJ/Gal/Hatch
          SF - Ellis/Burley/maybe Hatch a little
          PF - Butler
          C - Durley/Thomasson

          After Orukpe:
Starts at Center on 2nd line, and quickly goes to 1st line if Coach is happy.
Durley plays Center on 2nd line, with Thomasson playing the 4, and Butler
          getting fewer minutes.

Coach may switch a few players around for certain situations later on, mostly at the 4,5 positions, and maybe a little at the 3.

I threw in my last comment about both coaches being dumb just to have a little fun. I didn't realize that some would take it so seriously and I guess I need to be more careful so I won't offend anyone. Guess my sense of humor isn't shared by all. I'll try to watch myself in the future.

                  Depth Chart

                  POS #1 #2 #3 #4 #5
                  PG Braeuer Mekel Preadom Michael
SG Cousinard Mekel Hatch Preadom Harris
SF Griskenas Ellis Cousinard Hatch Burley
PF Clemente Griskenas Durley Harris Butler
                  C ThomassonDurley Clemente Butler

Possibility of Mekel taking over the point.

Possibility of Durley taking over the center.

Possibility of Orupke taking over as either #1 or #2 center when he arrives.

I would not expect the #4 or #5 to get any time except in exhibition games or blowouts.

As a recruiting nut, I admittedly am always looking to the future. Hopefully, Gal can help make our future a bright one. So I would like to see him earn his way into the starting lineup soon.

                    GM
                    PJ
                    MG
                    RC
                    PT

I expect EO to start soon into the 2nd semester if he makes it over. Although I expect PJ to be mostly at the SG position, we will probably see him some at the SG with Gal and Matt in the backcourt together.

I seem to recall that comment being made about a center a couple of years ago. What was his name? Oh yeah, some slow footed, hands of stone Fifi, named Paul Miller.

If you listened to HCGM this morning on KSGO, he pointed out that GM and MB have different styles. GM is stronger and more physical than MB.
While he didn't say this, it also points to a possiblity that he prefers a quicker more athletic point guard than GM for defensive purposes.

I find it hard to believe that anyone would toss the Nigerian into the starting mix until next year . He will have missed 5 months of the conditioning, playbook implementation, individual training sessions, and KR's magic by the time he gets here in December. If he gets into the starting lineup it will have to be that the team is in dire straits and GM is trying to search for desparate alternatives.

Being able to run like a gazelle is not the only attribute that GM will use to put him as a starter. If the other team members require months of daily practice to obtain and maintain GM motives, it will take months for a newcomer to get to the same level and be ready to play in his system. It must also be remembered that foreign basketball rules differ from USA rules, and that will take some adjustment, just as it has taken Gal Mekel a long time to adjust.

Did you read an earlier report on one of the basketball forums here that Marshall's first recruit from Nigeria got to Wintrop in December and in his first game he played he had a great game and presume he had a good season so not everythingyou say is true
