I wish Garrett was more active on defense. Sometimes, he looks like he is walking in molasses.

One more item. I really liked it, when he took the ball near center court and dribbeled to the basket and scored. I liked it not so much that he scored, but because he had the confidence to make the move.
Wasn't he a guard before he grow those 6-7 inches. I remember someone saying he had decent ball handling skills for a 7 footer...since normally they don't even know what a dribble is LOL
    Correct.

And when he got the ball I kept telling him to take it and didn't think he was listening ;-)

No, I made a point. You followed with a weak comeback. I commented on your weak comeback and then you followed with another weak comeback.

So, basically, you have no counter.

            Thanks, Blindy.

And blindy? Really? That is something an elementary kid would come up with. You don't have ANYTHING better? Definately explains alot. Always hard to argue with kids.....

Redshirting Stutz this year would of hurt us this year. The reasons have been already discussed in this thread ad nauseam.

It would hurt us next year, as redshirting a year wouldn't advance Stutz's skills nearly as much as actually playing a year of D1 games.

And, as such, him being behind a year next year would hurt us the next year and the year after that.

So the very first year that redshirting Stutz this year would have helped rather than hurt is '13-14, as that would have been his redshirt Senior year, but now will be his first year post-graduation.

Now, maybe this is wishfully optimistic thinking, but judging by the recruits and the direction change that Marshall has brought to WSU in less than two seasons, by the Fall of 2013 we may very well have some players that will take Stutz's place nicely, as well as other higher caliber players at different positions who can shoulder much of the load, negating much of the hurt that not redshirting Stutz this year will have created.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

In my opinion, redshirting is something you do when you are absolutely stacked and there simply is no playing time available for the kid. There is no reason why we should act like we cannot get another Stutz and we should hold onto this kid as long as we can. I fully expect to be upgrading to signing top 20 centers instead of top 40 in the next couple years.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO MORE SACRIFICE (throwaway) YEARS LEFT. We play now and we win now...

This is truly some dumbass logic.
Try using this when comparing the advantages PJ gained from his RS year.
And PM, although it was technically an injury year.
                        Cold actually hit it right.
If you have the luxury of able bodies on board, you RS a kid like GS.
                        GM doesn't have that luxury.
So GS gets his baptism of fire.

Once again, failing intelligence, Shockref arrives with insults a blazing.

So tell me, Shockref, how does redshirting a year give you anywhere as comparable a D1 basketball education as actually playing D1 games that year?

Furthermore, are you actually asserting the opposite; that PJ and PM were better their second years than they would of been had they not redshirted and played a full season of games?

I'm dying to hear your customarily well thought out, reasonable explanation that absolutely doesn't come off as another sad self applied stroke job.

                          Please please me.

Dumbass logic? You only redshirt guys if the ones in front of them are enough better that they won't get minutes. Would you really rather count on a redshirt freshman than a true sophomore? We would all like to see Stutz redshirt, because it would mean we currently have somebody better. Stutz would benefit long-term from a redshirt, but if you really believe (as I do) that we can contend next year, you got to have him playing this year and learning the lessons that you don't learn in practice.

BTW, the only advantage PJ got from his redshirt was PT his freshman year. He was pretty much physically developed enough to play right away and his improvement from his sophomore to senior year was minimal.
