  • Did anyone else catch the 'fist bump' that Ellis and HCGM did after Ellis drove to the basket from the wing? Ellis didn't make the shot, but HCGM was encouraged with Ellis's effort.

    • GS and TM.....all I could say walking out to the car was WOW. They both had a great game.

RC, as I watched I could not believe how he was able to get some of the boards that he did. The guy seems to have a reach that spans the entire court.

JTD, played well but still looked a little lost at times, especially in the first half.

It was great to see Griz get back at it, even better to hear the reception the fans gave him.

And the volleyball team at the half...HOT!
That rug really tied the room together.

Yes. Aaron took the ball to the hoop with authority and if not for a very hard foul he was going to throw down a MONSTER dunk and posterize the Gents for years to come.

Who else noticed Garrett getting his jersey grabbed and almost being pulled to the ground in the 2nd half that caused 1 of his 3 misses?

If the game had been tight at the time I think Gregg might have had a slightly more aggressive response than he did.

Time will tell if JT got the message. Of course, the message wasn't "play harder or someone is going to take your time" as many think......the message was "JT, we have found our center and if you ever want to play again significantly, you have a lot of work to do young man".

The future is bright and as of today it doesn't include a heavy dose of JT Durley, unfortunately.

Toure Murry continues to show everyone but me how good he really is.

For 'Fever: The crowd continues to blow.....if our fans were half as good as they thought they were we would be unbeatable at home. I will say the few students that have shown up have been outstanding.

        • Thanks Doc for the comments about the students, but i will say i am so embarrassed with the student turn out. We can barely fill half the student section, and the tickets are freaking free.

Time for a student ( ;-) ) to write a nice editorial letter to the Sunflower, and perhaps Sully, making sure they know how much fun it is, the rituals followed, and that the tickets are free. I talked to two students at UMKC game that didn't know until that day that tickets to BB game were free. TRADITIONAL STUDENTS!! They were going to spread the word to their friends and classmates.

No lie. On top of that, we're so disorganized this year. It takes forever for something to get started, and the cheerleaders don't help much. They're either waiting for us or trying to push us into one of their new, lesser-known chants.

We almost need either a pregame practice like we had last year, or we need someone to publish a cheering guide to help everyone out...

A few of you front-row types (if that's you) should take a leadership role and "git 'er done"!

His size advantage equated to only 3 rebounds (2 off, 1 def), which places his overall performance at only a "C".......

Normally I sit on the second row, but I did have a front-row last game. Even still, it's tough to coordinate between Sections 116 and 117. Plus, some of the other hyper-fans seem to have disappeared, like the caped crusader. (And if what I know is right, he won't be coming back.)

Basically, the whole student section just needs to get together and get ourselves and our stuff figured out. Hopefully we'll be ready by Valley play...

I don't completely disagree. Garrett needs to be snagging a rebound every 5-6 minutes he plays. But I think that will come in time as he learns to position himself better and gains experience. In high school he didn't have to work very hard for rebounds.

He'll get there. Guys with his frame typically aren't great rebounders unless they are just uber-athletic for their size, and especially if they have a guy like Clemente on the floor who has the ability to take rebounds away.
