I’ve been critical in the past of our marketing department and some of the low-majorish productions. The recognition of the Volleyball team at half-time simply brought tears to my eyes and was first class. Giving coach Lamb a microphone and allowing him to address the crowd was a special touch. I’m sure that Doc and others who follow Volleyball closely felt like proud parents last night. My out of town guests were very impressed with the recognition and the ‘classiness’ of the young women and coaches. If you weren’t a proud Wichita State alum, student, fan, etc., last night, you simply will never be one.

I was with some distinguished military guests last evening and they thought that was a nice touch as well.

I don't think you can ever really put yourself in the shoes of a parent but it was very nice to see those young ladies get some long deserved recognition on a bigger than usual scale. I just hope it isn't the last time.....there is work yet to be done, they are going to get it done and I hope the response is akin to the ovation the basketball team got a few years ago.

Having the opportunity to meet some of the parents of the kids, I can promise you it was a special time for them as well.
