Miller Kopp is listed at 6-6 or 6-7 depending on the site.

This kid looks like he might be someone who could add something to the team down the road. Might be worth a scholarship.

Mike is really excited about DJ. His experience and connections is already paying off in the high volume of recruits he has his stamp on. This was an important hire for Gregg because of the huge loss of Jan's and Heir. He needed a bulldog who could hit the ground running in areas of the country that is deep and rich with top 100 potential talent. DJ has earned his early money.

Absolutely. And I don't think most people realize what a tireless worker and recruiter Kyle is. He has so many great connections literally all over the world. How do you think Sunrise got to where it is? We are in great shape. I really like our stafff.

I hope you are right and have no reason to think you are not but, anyone can go out and make offers to great talent. It means nothing unless some of them sign on the dotted line. Kyle has a good track record in this department but I will withhold judgement on Donnie until I see signatures.

It's not like Donnie doesn't have a track record to look at. He has a longer one than Kyle and one has every reason to believe that DJ will come through. I see no reason to say that one appreciates Donnie's hiring, has been impressed with Kyle, and is positive about both.

What we really have is the jury is still out on this whole AAC entry and how it affects our recruiting. That is true of our entire staff until we have some signings.

Jones and Marshall both have a track record of successfully recruiting and signing guys who end up in the NBA. In any single year there are only about 30 people in the entire world who end up in the NBA. Being a top-50 guy in a HS class doesn't equate to a likelihood of actually making it to the league. Being a top-20 guy is about where that expectation can realistically exist.

VanVleet was a borderline top-100 player and just a couple of days ago he was getting a hug from LeBron James in the handshake line after an NBA playoff game. Baker didn't even exist in any reports from the scouting services and he's a sometime starter in the NBA as a rookie.

WSU has A LOT to offer to prospects in the 51-100 range of the scouting services. That's where a lot of the recruiting is aimed, and there are starting to be some top-50 guys Marshall is pursuing. Marshall (and Jones) have a story to tell and some history to justify that they can improve a player's chances of getting into the NBA. That's the level at which WSU is now recruiting.

The Shox are unlikely to sign anyone if they don't make an offer. You never make the shot you don't take.

The only other thing I will add is that we shouldn't be holding our breath on signing any top 10 5 star type guys. I am confident that our staff is not willing to play the kind of game$ it takes to land these players.

My only concern is that it seems like we now have an assistant staff top-loaded with primarily recruiters, rather than a balance of in-game minds, player developers, AND recruiters. Sure, "in Marshall I trust", but he's always seemed to do best with other in-game minds helping him out especially.
