A couple of great games (based on last season's ending RPI's), but the majority of other games - PHEW!!!
1. North Carolina - 1
2. Florida State - 15
3. Georgia State- 106
4. LIU-Brooklyn - 222
5. South Alabama - 229
6. Alcorn State - 249
7. Southeastern Louisiana - 251
8. Nicholls State - 254
9. Miami-Ohio - 302
10. Southern - 319
11. TBD-Jamaica Classic - ???
12. TBD-Jamaica Classic - ???

I think it actually makes sense for 1-2 teams in a conference to schedule this way. Tulane is trying to get off the mat. They need to do something to get some wins if they are going to start building up the program. There are 2 warning signs of when scheduling like this is becoming a problem.
1) It's still happening in Year 5 or Year 6 of a coaching regime, and the university isn't doing anything about it (see Hinson @SIU).
2) It's happening in years when a program should be competitive at an NIT or at-large level (see Simmons @2016 UE).Comment

You can also look at Jank's teams at Illinois State when Osiris Eldridge was a junior and senior (2008-09 and 2009-10). Those teams were absolutely talented enough to compete for an at-large...but absolutely out of the running for an at-large before the season started because the Redbirds' non-conference schedule absolutely sucked.Originally posted by Cdizzle View Post78-65Comment

I do want to send my hopes to our friends in Houston and New Orleans and all points along the Texas and Louisiana coasts that I they get through the coming Hurricane Harvey assault safely and with minimal damage but the amount of rain some places are forecasted to get is scary.Comment

"PHILADELPHIA – Wisconsin, which has made 19 straight NCAA Tournament appearances including two trips to the Final Four in the last three years, highlights the Temple men's basketball 2017-18 non-conference schedule released today. Besides the Badgers, the Owls' schedule has two other teams, Dayton and Villanova, which competed in the 2017 NCAA Tournament, along with Clemson and Georgia that participated in the NIT last year. George Washington, which competed in the 2017 College Basketball Invitational (CBI), makes six postseason teams on the non-conference slate...."
Temple has put together a really good non-conference schedule for this season (based on last season's ending RPI's), YIPPEE!!!

Looks like Temple picked up another great game? If this happens, it will move their Non-conference Strength-Of-Schedule (NC-SOS) from 133 to 124. Wichita State will have a NC-SOS of around 104
"...According to a source, that game will be against South Carolina at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 30.
Temple is coming off a 16-16 season. The Owls are expected to be a contender in the American Athletic Conference, where newcomer Wichita State should be the favorite. The AAC schedule is expected to be released early next month...."Comment
