WSU's contract with Cox runs through the 2017-2018 season.

Also I wouldn't foresee anyone out bidding them for the tier 3 rights after this season anyways.

      • Don't want to see Cox go out like this. At least two or three games a year.
Why walk somebody in baseball when you can hit them?

The College of Charleston men’s basketball program has finalized its non-conference schedule for the 2017-2018 season, a slate that includes more than 10,000 miles of airline travel and five opponents that advanced to postseason play last season.

“It was really important that we create a tough non-conference schedule as we prepare for the challenging CAA slate,” said head coach Earl Grant.

"Wichita State’s non-conference men’s basketball schedule may be finished, done in by the intricacies of scheduling and a shrinking timetable.

The Shockers are contractually obligated to play a fourth game in connection with the Maui Invitational. However, the requirements go beyond finding one opponent willing to play at Koch Arena.

That same opponent must play at LSU in November and in a mainland portion of the tournament the week of Thanksgiving at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C. LSU, WSU and six other schools play in Maui that week.

There are no candidates for that spot in late July, Wichita State athletic director Darron Boatright said, and it is growing more likely everyone will agree to scrap the Maui mainland game for WSU and LSU...."

Awesome. Somehow we get paired with LSU for this crap, and it kills us.

                    • Rumor on the street is that Mitchell Robinson (top-10 recruit) is leaving Western Kentucky and several folks in the know are expecting him to end up at LSU.

This does not seem that hard, a two year home and home series with LSU starting in Wichita this year seems like a fine solution.

Robinson's godfather no longer on the staff may backfire on Stansbury.

I fully believe this is the reason we won't schedule LSU. I refuse to believe we are too scared to go to Baton Rouge during football season with their dozens of fans against a team we beat by 400 last year when we weren't even that good.

                              • For clarity, this doesn't have anything to do with WSU playing or not playing LSU. What we need is a common opponent that can play @ WSU, @LSU AND at the Maui Mainland tournament in November.

What is unfortunate is that somehow we got paired with the tourney boat-anchor, that has somehow replaced DePaul as our leech, for finding such an opponent.
