2017-18 Schedule

For whatever reason it seems like we've been able to get one "great" buy game every season (should have been LBSU last year). I'm not sure if it's a money issue or just an issue of conflicting dates but it would be nice to have all of our buy games be "great" buy games instead of a few anchors.

Ok, so what do we know so far?

4 games against Maui competition: Chaminade, Notre Dame, California, LSU, Marquette, Michigan and VCU.

At Oklahoma State

Oklahoma at Intrust

South Carolina at Koch

At Baylor

Creighton at Sprint Center

Vermont at Koch (same weekend after mid week to Mizzou)

(There seems to be confusion here, Vermont has a mid week at Mizzou, then coming here for travel ease)

That leaves 3 openings, yes?

They also had no seniors last season. Wow.

edit: nvmd, ESPN.com's rosters are in a state of flux. They lost their 3rd and 5th leading scorers to graduation. Still a very, very solid outlook for this year based on returning firepower.

Great job by our staff, what a terrific buy game.

So true, and not just an RPI boost. Make no mistake, these guys will come in here with nothing but winning on their mind and they've got the talent to pull it off....but almost as important, what an entertaining opponent! Seriously, it's as if the scheduling gods are trying to make amends with Shocker fans all in one felled swoop. We sit around all year in anticipation of a good game against OSU and are out of it in 2 minutes....and there's nothing to get excited about the rest of the year.....

I'm okay with a game or two that are "develop the bench" games. The problem in the past was that we not only had a couple of those in the non-conference slate but we also had several in the conference portion. We should not have as much of a problem with that now.
