WSU and LSU playing is an option on the table but we don't want to play @ LSU and LSU doesn't want to come here.

    • So how about Shreveport and Intrust? That would solve the problem of losing the mainland game, and LSU won't always be bad -- probably not even for all that long. Will Wade knows what he's doing.

I suspect the real issue is indeed the coaching change, and that's unfortunate and unlucky, although understandable.

      • It's also the concept of agreeing to be the other's ***** since there's no return game baked in.

A very nice overall schedule, but note the two anchors on the non-conference schedule with prior year RPI's:

          9. North Dakota - 133

            • Sooners are going to be a different animal this year. Should be a great game at IBA. Heard freshman Brady Mannek has been a top player so far on their foreign trip as well.

Trae Young goes for 21 and five assists in Oklahoma's third game of its foreign tour. Has scored 20 or more points in each game of trip.

              • Its tough to evaluate teams on tours like these. I always thought most of these teams really don't play much defense but they can shoot it pretty well. Of course there are a lot of US teams that play no D as well.

                • It is great playing the three Big 12 teams this Season. Oklahoma State and Baylor will be a solid test also for us on our road games this Season. A sweep would be nice but we really need to get at least 2 of these three in our win column. While I like the IBA idea, it would also be nice to get some Big 12 teams down at 21st. and Hillside to get a taste on what 'Danny Manning and his miracles' experienced here many moons ago."

Maui is a tourney we could win with some tough teams in it. All in all, the tougher the schedule, the more equipped and seasoned we will be in March so this is a nice pivotal Season to build on for the future. A sweep there would be a needed shot in the Shocks arm towards a Season to remember.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

I believe Baylor comes to CKA next season.

No help to really speak of in regards to Arkansas State's non-conference schedule (included prior year RPI's):

                      1. Wichita State - 29

                      6. Evansville - 192
                      7. Cleveland State - 263

I doubt if we were really counting on much help from Arkie State's non-con schedule. Last year ASU finished wiht an RPI of 113 which would not be bad at all for a buy game if they can duplicate that. They did lose a couple of seniors from last year included in their leading scorer Devin Carter (16.4 PPG, 3.6 RPG) and their 4th leading scorer Donte Thomas (8.6 PPG, 4.5 RPG). The have 5 seniors and 4 juniors on this year's roster but it looks like all 9 of those players were junior college transfers. ASU does have a new head coach, Mike Balado, who spent his previous 4 years on Rick Pitino's staff at Louisville. Beyond that his resume is not particularly strong. ASU hasn't shown up in Nos. 92 - 144 in the CSM preseason rankings and they probably won't make that Top 144 list. Let's hope the can stay in the Top 200.

                        • Since they play the Aces in the non-conference Arky St. can rest easy knowing there is very little chance of getting Evansville'd.

I would love that if it were UT Arlington or TCU -- down in my area, so maybe could attend.

                            • Schedule has been finalized.

EDIT: I should clarify. NON-conference is finalized. Times and dates for conference play coming in September.

The Shockers, athletic director Darron Boatright said, will stick with their 12-game non-conference schedule. Attempts to find a mainland game connected to the Maui Invitational did not succeed.
