I believe the PIG in question is "play-in game." At least I hope so, if only for the sake of the pig down there in hillbilly country.

By the way, on an unrelated note, I thought it was interesting to read in the pregame notes that SWOMO has the upper hand on WSU in the series between the two (23-19), but that the Shocks have totally taken over against Missouri (not a) State, where WSU leads 21-7 since the name change. If you're going to spiff up your school's official brand name, shouldn't you also kick up your performance a notch?

Did you actually listen to the pregame show and can offer details or are you just joining the trendy bandwagon?

I'm such a bandwagoner that I was critizing Marshall very strongly at the time of the ball boy incident and also after the Canada tirade.

I guess I'm the bandwagoner that's been here the whole time being consistent. One would think that would make me a not-a-bandwagoner, but clearly Fever logic is not always in line with what one would think.

To call you a bandwagoner is kind of a strange insult. First of all, if anything, on this board we're too quick to deny even the slightest of faults that gets mentioned in regards to HCGM. And second, if anything, it's easier to label you a contrarian than a bandwagoner (I don't mean that to be rude). So it seems like the consistent (albeit, certainly inaccurate) insult would be that you are anti-HCGM due to your desire to disagree with everyone.

I'll go on the record as saying the ball boy and Canada "incidents" didn't surprise me. HCGM is an intense competitor and I think he has a lot of Bobby Knight in him. Getting frustrated during in an intense moment isn't particularly surprising. And, honestly, they mostly don't bother me. I've also noticed a difference when he's interacting with MK, and it seems different since it's not in the heat of a game. It's very odd.

I was wondering if MK did something to get in HCGM's doghouse, which is hard to imagine. Last two pregame interviews have been painful to listen to. Lots of one word answers.

Last question last night was something like what style or look does MSU present and HCGM said approximately, "they play the game."

Darral will get a lesson today on how to pass out of a double team. Moments like that are what keep him from playing more.

No doubt but it is not just that. His lackadaisical defense and tendency to give up offensive boards due to poor to no effort to block out are no doubt not pleasing to 3G either. Whether he will eventually buy into those dirty jobs more enthusiastically remains to be seen.

That's pretty bad. And Mike seems like such a nice guy. If it really was just a rude moment for one reason or another, I'm not sure how he can get mad at the team for getting lazy in the 2nd half. He almost had that coming after a lazy performance here with MK. I do wonder what was the source of his negativity.

Thanks for bringing first-hand facts to the table instead of just gleefully piling on.

I guess I'll have to listen to the next pregame show. I've been following the coaches shows and I'm not seeing the same responses there with MK. So maybe it's just a game day thing. We know Marshall can be cranky at times. I'm not sure why that's a surprise to anyone. If it's something MK did, that might be an entirely different issue. I guess I'll weigh in more after I listen to one first-hand.

Having gone back and listened to it, this seems much ado about nothing. HCGM has a low tolerance for silly, poorly worded questions, or when he just doesn't want to answer it, and when it happens he comes across a bit like an ass. He gave fine answers in the questions that were between the 3 here, so most likely it had to do with the questions and less to do with MK.
