I see Marshall continuing to limit the playing time for everyone for the remainder of the regular season. 1) The competition won't necessitate the need for our best 8 to be in the rotation and 2) this allows the other 4 to get playing time under their belt in case of, heaven forbid, injury to a key player.

No sense in subjecting the starters to more minutes until we get to the post season. Depending on our opponent on Saturday (and how well we play and get to the championship game), he may not have to play CF and LS 30 MPG until the championship game.

    • Very intrigued by the switching defense we've started using. Looks like Marshall has bought in to McDuffie's defense, as he and Brown are now pretty much switching everything. If they can continue to improve that, and possibly include Shamet as we close this year, and Keyser next year, that is a tremendous defensive advantage. It's rare to have a 6'6" guy and a 6'8" guy that can both keep pretty much anyone in front of them.

I'm reminded of that Final Four interview Bobby did with Gregg. It was pretty obvious both men admired one another. Distinctly remember at the end of the interview when Gregg asked Bobby if he had any advice for him going into the game. Knight responded, stop practicing so hard. Marshall's response was something along the lines of "ain't gonna happen!"

        Loved that interview.

          Don't forget Izzo.

Not every coach can get ejected from a game with the class of a Dean Smith I guess.

He gave fine answers in the questions that were between the 3 here, so most likely it had to do with the questions and less to do with MK.
I listened to the pregame. He didn't want to be there. Had a sucker or mint in his mouth. MK's questions were not terrible, they were about specific players and about what kind of schemes MSU would run. Marshall's responses in content and tone were not becoming. • DW and DS have had some good moments.........and some bad.
Maybe it's just me but they have not earned my trust yet, at least
not in a big game. The ball gets stuck in DW's hands too much
disrupting ball movement / chemistry and DS just doesn't take
very good care of the ball. If DS would just use his quickness to
penetrate enough to collapse defenses and then kick out to open
wings he could be a tremendous asset but he never does. Running
down and jacking up quick 3's is not going to make us better.

                  • Well, a most interesting turn of thoughts...a few reflections...

*I think 3G had NO desire to take the pregame picture, because of the delay in getting it done, but did it with a smile
*I think Mike Kennedy has NEVER done anything unprofessionally besides whine a bit at refs, so hopefully no beef there
*I think it's often possible to grow into some entitlement...not saying it has happened here...always important to have at least one non 'yes' man...

These are definitely small time 'problems'...

                    • DW's minutes are going to continue to be low until "pass" enters his vocabulary.
DS's minutes will start increasing a little due to improved play and Gregg's concern about keeping Austin healthy.
These last three road games need our full attention.
The current rotation looks pretty solid for the rest of this season.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

Oh certainly, I'm just commenting on the fact that it had nothing to do with MK. If fairly certain HCGM would respond "I'm only here so I don't get fined" to many interviews if he could.

I may be misremembering, but didn't HCGM say he had two pictures of coaches in his office? It was Knight and Tarkanian, I think. Maybe there were three and it also included Kresse. I can't remember.

I had never heard that before and it would certainly disappoint me if true. One a notorious cheater and the other just an asshole.

Yep, Coach was fine at his show on Monday and after Ill St game.
Usually if he is short like that it is because something has really pissed him off prior to the interview that has nothing to do with Mike. Case in point, a few weeks ago he was late to his show and irritable. Turns out he had been dealing with the issue that rewarded CJ with civilian attire for one game.

He is genuine, which can also be a negative trait in today's instant media circus and doesn't filter much, although more than you think.

Tark was anti establishment and hated the blue bloods, that's why 3G loves him.
