After watching UNI v Xavier and a little of the first half against OU I will go along with UNI being good. They are the only team outside Wichita to help the MVC so far in the non-con. LOOKING AT YOU ISUr..... Murray St lost to UMKC last night.

My simple thoughts about UNI. If the 3 is falling or they are getting to the FT line, they are going to win a lot of games. Defend the arc and push their guards out 25-30ft to run their offense and they look like the early 2nd half against X last night. Koch and Carlson are good, Morgan is very good. And...................well, it drops off for them after that. Yes they have guys like Lohaus that serve a purpose, but if their main 3 guys aren't going good they are going to struggle. Freshman PG is quick and looks like he has potential, but he has to grow up fast for UNI to realize its full potential. They are easily the 2nd best team in the league, and probably notch a win against WSU at some point. But they are about the only one's I see getting one.

I was impressed with UNI's play last night. They were up against a really good Xavier team, and kept it relatively interesting. They definitely put themselves in a position to win that game, just didn't get enough shots to fall in the end. I could see their bigs giving us some problems. Will definitely be our biggest competition in the Valley this year.

UMKC gave the Jays a tougher game than NC State. Although they play no defense, UMKC has a quick, talented backcourt, and will definitely finish above their preseason ranking of 6th in the WAC.

The UNI-XU rematch will be interesting. On the one hand, playing at XU's Cintas Center is comparable in difficulty to Koch Arena and all the travel is no picnic for UNI; on the other hand I like Jacobsen over Mack as the coach who can make the better adjustments over six days.
