Pitt, Arkansas and Ole Miss? You have to be kidding....

Pitt is 3-9 in the ACC. Ole Miss is 6-6 in the tough and rugged SEC. Wow, I'm starting to think he does it just to spite us.

    • KU would be fun, but Id rather get paired with KSU.

In that case, I'd take MSU. WSU at 28-5 would indeed by gaudy, but the schedule is just SO. MUCH. WEAKER.

It averages out 80+ bracketologists so one bad egg isn't important, and updates often. Shockers are currently the last 10 seed.

The bracketmatrix is great, but the quality of the data isn't so much.

Your neighbor could start posting a bracket regularly throughout the season, let the guy who runs the BM site know about it, and he'd be added to the list. I'm pretty sure we have a regular, average guy poster on SN who is included in the bracketmatrix, although I can't specifically remember who it is right at the moment.

Nonetheless, BM is certainly better than nothing. My point I guess is that it's still nice to be on the bracket for guys who are in the public eye.

Putting Pitt in the mix is insane.

I'm now really hoping Pitt finishes strong. If they fall off, Jerry will have an excuse for them missing out. I want them to win a bunch more AND STILL miss out.

I agree it would be nice, for publicity's sake, for Lunardi and Palm to be high on the Shox. With that said, the bracket matrix average (yes, it is largely a bunch of dummies like me), but the average has consistently been better than pretty much any single bracketologist, and definitely better than Lunardi or Palm by themselves. In a given year, a few random guys will beat the matrix average, but the next year they won't do so hot, while the matrix will once again be near the top. It is consistently very close to the top year-in-year-out.

If you just want to research for yourself, the bracketmatrix is absolutely the best place to visit.

Is it you? I thought I remembered it being a less active poster.

And I certainly agree otherwise. Just like Massey takes any and all comers, it's still a useful clearinghouse of data.

I was on it for about 4-5 years. Haven't kept up with full brackets in recent years.

(Was just saying yes, it is goobers LIKE me.)

Weaker, but hey don't be Jerry :P We will at minimum be 2-5 against the top 100(CSU will get there). Also I'm not gonna sleep on UNI doing UNI things and squeaking in the top 100. 2-5 isn't great, but 4-5 if we get there(longshot) would put us well ahead. Also selection Sunday MSU was 5-8, that 7-9 includes their 2-1 showing in the NIT.

                      • Yeah @ShockCrazy:, we are both making stat mistakes now. Time to get out of 2006!!

I ultimately agree though. 28-5 WSU would be an epic snub. That's why I'm confident 28-5 would get a bid.

                        Go Shox!

Agreed ultimately the debate is between what is worse in two monumentally, disastrous scenarios. Also, with advanced metrics continued popularity growth, I'm not sure MSU would happen again today. I feel very confident a 29-5 WSU is in the tournament. Now I'm not convinced we wouldn't get sent to Dayton again though.

I don't think there is a scenario where UNI ends up in the Top 100 and WSU is still on the bubble. Either we will have lost to them at least once, or we'll be 3-0 against them and the auto-bid.

You have to include Arkansas after their quality loss to Missouri
Dominance is a state of mind.

Actually worked through it on RPI forecast, UNI winning out with the exception of our game, and losing to ISUr on Saturday puts them around 105. Definitely in the fringe of being 100. If we lost to them on Sunday, they are definitely top 100. Now there is an interesting debate as to whether 3-1 versus a 50-100 RPI teams is better than 1-0, I'm not sure.
