2.) I have limited historical knowledge of players in the NBA

My google search produced the following instructive (for some readers, undoubtedly) list regards NAIA basketball players being drafted by NBA teams -

1967 - Earl Monroe was the 2nd pick in the NBA draft
    1971 - Elmore Smith
was the 3rd pick in the NBA draft
    1977 - Jack Sikma
was the 8th pick in the NBA draft
    1985 - Charles Oakley
was the 9th pick in the NBA draft
1985 - Terry Porter was the 24th pick in the NBA draft
    1987 - Scotty Pippen
was the 5th pick in the NBA draft
    1999 - Devean George
was the 23rd pick in the NBA draft

The last NAIA player I could find who was picked in the NBA draft is Flip Murray in 2002.

Consequently, I am in agreement with wufan that at this point in time the selection of an NAIA player by an NBA team in the NBA draft would be an unusual (defined by Merriam Webster as uncommon) event.
Some people won't get it. If you provide Internet data, some people will say they don't need to look because you can see it in any NBA game. Tell them there aren't any in the current NBA, and they will say that they saw it 30 years ago. My toddlers engage in more structured arguments than some I've seen on this board.

It is called throwing a bucket of sh!t at a wall to see what sticks. I have seen it used a number of times on SN. The most amusing part about it is that some people, in order to prove their point, end up with an argument so obtuse it does not resemble their initial logic in any way.

          Ah, wufan. Again.

Do I need to check internet data to support my assertion that K. Manigault has received a prestigious award? Was my data not sufficient? Would you refute the kids hardwood success? Is that your intention/point?

I'm baffled by your ceasless effort, as well as very amused.

Willis could certainly be that guy sooner, but I was actually thinking Hamilton in another year or two.

That would be almost too good to be true. Bookends Part Deux!

But lately, not much surprises me anymore concerning the Shockers.
