That certainly was his point. And he's correct, but I wasn't talking about the game I watched on TNT last night as far as representing NAIA players making it in the NBA.

I was referring to this compendium of small college players, of which I've seen many play in real time. Thank you for the effort.

So I don't know, or care, if wufan was trying to change a heart or a mind when he interjected into my point about K. Manigault having a successful career with nothing to be ashamed of. I stand by THAT point.

Take a deep breath and reread all relevant posts; wufan was addressing your "It's not unusual for players in that category to be 1st round draft picks" statement. We are all in agreement that KM had a successful year; and, IMO, we are all also in agreement at this point in time should an NAIA POY be drafted in the first round of the NBA draft such would be unusual event.

I don't need to reread them, and why would I want to, considering that in the name of dimplomacy, I'm the one who withdrew the first round qualifier. Even though I've seen such players drafted in that round.

And the next time an NAIA player is drafted in the FIRST round, it won't be the first time, nor the last I'm sure. And It'll most likely be the NAIA player of the year.

If it's unusual to you, well, that's alright with me.

Oh, and by the way, a top 10 pick in the '77 draft, Jack Sikma is on that list you took time to paste. So you and wufan can both blowt out your asses... With love of course!!! Thanks again.

                                Two qualifiers -
1.) I offer no assurances regards my expertise at searching the internet for information

2.) I have limited historical knowledge of players in the NBA

My google search produced the following instructive (for some readers, undoubtedly) list regards NAIA basketball players being drafted by NBA teams -

1967 - Earl Monroe was the 2nd pick in the NBA draft
                                1971 - Elmore Smith
was the 3rd pick in the NBA draft
                                1977 - Jack Sikma
was the 8th pick in the NBA draft
                                1985 - Charles Oakley
was the 9th pick in the NBA draft
1985 - Terry Porter was the 24th pick in the NBA draft
                                1987 - Scotty Pippen
was the 5th pick in the NBA draft
                                1999 - Devean George
was the 23rd pick in the NBA draft

The last NAIA player I could find who was picked in the NBA draft is Flip Murray in 2002.

Consequently, I am in agreement with wufan that at this point in time the selection of an NAIA player by an NBA team in the NBA draft would be an unusual (defined by Merriam Webster as uncommon) event.
