Markis will soon get a well needed recharge after the school year and will be chomping at the bit to get back into town and start summer practice with his teammates and prep for the summer trip. They're always ready to get back to it after a month off.

We've got Kelly and Willis at the 4. McDuffie might see some time there if both those guys have foul issues, or if one of them needs to cover for Morris and Nurger.
McDuffie at SF is a matchup nightmare for most D1 teams. McDuffie can guard SF's without any problem, so the Shox can use a player with more bulk at PF. McDuffie has the handles, quickness, and moves to get to the hoop against SF defenders. Or he can just shoot over them no matter how they defend him.
There are probably some genetics involved. MeCuffie might never get above 210 or 220 during his college career. Rob Kampman had a similar situation. No matter how he ate or worked out, he struggled to add bulk. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

It would be nice if the Shox didn't have to go 3-deep at the 5 again. Playing Willis as primarily a 5 would probably mean limited time for Nurger. I'm not seeing where Miller was much better as a Soph than Nurger. If Nurger is to (can??) continue to develop, he's going to need some court time.
The guard positions are the problem area. If McDuffie stays at the 3, then Allen can sub in at the 2. That leaves Shamet, Frankamp, Smith, and Allen as the main backcourt rotation. If McDuffie moves to the 4, then Allen moves to 3 and there's either a 3-guard roataion or we're relying on a Fr.The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Nor Willis just the 4or just the 5.

It surprises how most people don't realize how predictable our rotation already is.. We are at least a 10 deep roster not counting Hamilton or Keyser, two wild card players.
PG- Shamet, Smith
SG- CF, Allen
SF- McDuffie, Brown
PF- Willis, Kelly
C- Shaq, Rauno
Slightly confused by all the skepticism of Landry at point. Dude's an obvious choice for team leader and I've only watched him play 3 games. Our guard rotation seems solid to me without Keyser or Reaves even being considered. At SF we have a strong 1-2 punch in McDuff and Brown. Both are defensive monsters already. Brown needs to work on confidence and driving. At PF and C we my biggest question mark out of all of them is RK. I recall Marshall saying over the last offseason that Kelly seemed to be the most improved. He didn't exhibit that in games to me. Too often he made stupid decisions driving and couldn't think on the go. I expect Willis to start over him. Shaq needs to prove he can be a beast without Fred and Ron on the court but I don't think it would be a surprise to see him get to the next level. If Nurger can figure out his game he'll make a solid backup. Those are my two cents, I'm not worried about our rotation in the least and I expect it to not be too unpredictable unless we get another transfer..

I think McDuffie will play some minutes at the 4 and Willis some minutes at the 5. I heard or read somewhere that coach expects keyser to help this year. There's going to be competition for minutes.

At the 5, I expect that Shaq and Nurger won't be able to consistently play 40 min w/o foul trouble. I expect Willis game is 15 foot in, which just barely qualifies him as a PF in HCGMs offense.
You know Kelly, Brown, and McDuffie are going to be in the rotation at the 3/4. If Brown and McDuffie are viewed as more successful than Kelly, then it is likely that McDuffie will slide over to get more PT for both players.
Running a three guard rotation of CF, DS, and LS should be fine.Livin the dream
