Aargh, I tend to agree with your ideas on player options. Off the tape on Willis I would think he is a natural 4. In our offense we will certainly post him up at times, he is quick and smooth on the block. He also showed a strong mid-range jump shot, and split the post double team to explode to the basket for the dunk. This makes me feel that he can play the 4 perimeter spot in our 4 out 1 in offense. Will these skills transfer to Division I competition?
Rashard Kelly is the main returner at that position and made strides to develop into a perimeter player. Looks more comfortable in this role as a sophomore. Like his strength and athletic ability.
Eric Hamilton has ideal weight, mobility, and size for the 4. As others have noted he shoots well from 3. Wildcard that should not be counted out. Shot selection and passing skills need some developing.
McDuffie iS obviously skilled enough to play the 4. Makes no difference on offense, just means he guards a bigger player on defense and the line up just gets smaller. He did not have the ideal weight to play the position last season.
The good news is Marshall plays a big rotation of players. Let the best player win the position.

Good tweet (I think) from Markis:

Markis McDuffie‏@ThatMcDuffieKid19h19 hours agoCan't cry about having a lot on my plate , if my goal was to eat. #KeepGrinding

I like this attitude. Sounds like he is being pushed and challenged (although you never know for sure) and he is ready to tackle those challenges. Think opportunity, Markis. Think opportunity.

I'd love to see this 5:
        Morris 6'8
        Willis 6'9
        McDuffie 6'9
        Brown 6'6
        Shamet 6'5

That is one line up I would like to watch. Still have to wait & observe the cream rise to the top.

When all the injuries hit and Brown spent some time at SG, Marshall was saying he had to play Brown out of position, so this lineup might be more likely:

            Morris 6'8
            Willis 6'9
            McDuffie 6'9
            Allen 6'5
            Shamet 6'5

That would be bookends with a tome in between them.

I totally agree about Brown not having proven his ability to handle the ball good enough to play guard.

Additionally, during his final Monday show, HCGM said that in addition to Duff having to get stronger and put on weight, that Allen had to gain foot speed, and lateral quickness during the offseason. My guess is that there is some concern regarding Allen's ability to guard quick guards. He will play both the 3 and 2 but where he plays most may have to do with match ups. He sure can shoot though.

Outer space, wsushox -- when the astronaut who just came back from a year in space returned to earth, he was an inch and a half taller than he had been when he went up (and also an inch and a half taller than his twin brother who stayed earthbound) -- less gravity pulling you down up there. Unfortunately, it didn't take long for him to return to normal size once he was exposed to earthly gravity.

So Frankamp is probably stuck being 6-1 unless he spends an awful lot of time on the inversion table. On the other hand, he finished with five blocks in just 28 games and 479 minutes (which I believe matched Doug McDermott's career high achieved in MANY more minutes), so he's getting off the ground now and then. And speaking of the nominal thread title guy McDuffie, Frankamp wasn't far behind him as a shot blocker per minute at 95.8 minutes per block, vs. Markis at 90 minutes per block (seven in 630 minutes). Now that would be a handful.

The best part, and the most surprising to me, is that at least two, if not three, of those blocks were from the front side, one-on-one, just simply jumping and blocking a jumpshot, not a block from behind. I love blocks from behind, but the from behind blocks are more positioning and timing than athletic jumping.

                          Does Macy signify consensus? Maybe?

In the crazy world where we measure with shoes on. Honestly, I'm not sure why a giant afro didn't make Sean Ogirri 6'-7".

Bottom of your feet (not your shoes, you feet) to top of your scalp would make way too much sense.
