  • #98 COLORADO STATE MEN'S BASKETBALL 2016-2017 PREVIEW - College Sports Madness

    Top 144 Previews

"Colorado State suffered through a pretty inconsistent season last year. Just when it would look like the Rams were ready to turn a corner, they would lose a couple games. The Rams struggled mightily on the road and that prevented this team from making a serious run at the top teams in the Mountain West Conference. The return of Gian Clavell, who missed all but ten games last season with a shoulder injury, will help usher in a new look Rams team. Clavell averaged 20.8 points and 6.9 rebounds in those ten games. He is a great scorer from anywhere on the floor and is ready to take over this team...."

      Top 144 Previews

Predicted to finish 3rd in the MVC

"Northern Iowa was supposed to have a bit of rebuilding year in 2015-2016; and that was partially the case. The Panthers finished 11-7 and tied for fourth in Missouri Valley play, but this was a very good team by February and March. On January 27th Northern Iowa beat Bradley to end a four game losing skid. That was also the start of a superb finish to the regular season where UNI won nine of their last ten games. And they kept that momentum going into Arch Madness, slipping past Southern Illinois, Wichita State and Evansville to reach the NCAA Tournament. And things were just starting to get interesting. At the NCAA Tournament, the Panthers upset Texas and then had one of the biggest collapses in college basketball history against Texas A&M. The Aggies overcame a ten point deficit with less than 30 second left to force overtime. It will take some time before people stop remembering Northern Iowa for that loss. But for Coach Ben Jacobson and the Panthers, it is already behind them and this is a team that can compete for another shot at the NCAA Tournament...."

      • Southern Nazarene (OK) rounds out the non-conference schedule with a November 29 matchup. The Valley slate will be coming out in early-mid September.

The correlation between low IQ scores and P5 bandwagon fanhood is fascinating.

Our non-con SOS should fare no worse than last year, when it was ranked 30th via KenPom, or in other words 75 spots in front of "Daddycool's" Jayhawks.

Yes. Not to mention the fact we could face a combination of Louisville, Michigan State, or VCU in Atlantis.

                  • As long as beating up on crappy B12 teams counts as a weak schedule for everyone, then I guess we don't have a problem.

                    • We need to play more P5 teams? Holy hell! What a novel concept! Those P5s apparently are lining up to play equal home-home series against Wichita State. Someone needs to let Gregg know that so that we don't miss that opportunity.

Had we had another P5 road game instead of Maryland Eastern Shore, I would agree with you wholeheartedly. Regardless, I would bet we will still have a Top 50 non-conference SOS. That said, we MUST beat LSU or else our at-large resume takes a huge hit in November.

                        • The sad part is even if we had the #1 Non-Con SOS, we would still have SOS concerns if we end up on the bubble thanks to the lovely MVC. There is no way to get a really solid SOS when 18+ of your games are bad by default.

That moron had me at "Power 6." Dead give away that it's a Creighton fan or some other wanna be program. Nobody with any shred of intelligence or credibility uses "Power 6."

The guy was an idiot. He also went in on some Missouri State fan who called him out for whining about the schedule. He's "not a Shocker fan, just a fan of good hoops".

Straight up Kansas City B***h Pigeon fan. He posted a video of the KU/OU game at AFH saying "I'm trying to go to games like this".

He also kept harping on SDSU for some weird reason.
