Not so sure to Lol...or to think that pole seemed to help. Lol. Either way...his "athletic" potential is key me thinks to absoletly keep those "naysayers" at bay. Kid has stud written all over him. Fingers crossed for a better than average recoverery.

    • What we need is a retractable roof. Then there is no ceiling.

I heard that, just like Baker, Kevin Durant, and Dez Bryant, Shamet will never jump again. Or run. But he can still dribble and shoot so the team will just be a little slower paced when he's out there.

He was last seen today. In KC, throwing out the first pitch at the Royals game with Frankamp and doing a quality interview on tv.

          • Like virtually all college teams without injuries, this year's team will start to hit its peak around the time Conference play starts. Just how good that is remains to be seen.

Early on, we could look pretty mediocre as the players adjust to each other and Div-1 ball.

Sure, anything can happen, but even the mere mention of a National Championship at this point in time is _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ! Hopeful is the kindest word I choose to use.

            • This year's team has the potential to have a stronger frontcourt than last year. With Shaq as an upperclassman, an experienced Nurger, JUCO all american Willis and 2nd year FOY McDuffie, we have a pretty nice core of big guys. Guards look good too, but we don't know yet who will be the leaders(s) of this team.

                    • Obviously the summer scrimmages and the Canada trip will ultimately show who the leaders will be next season. But these two representing the Shocks at the Royals game may be our first clue as to where the leadership will come from.

                      • I'm cool with Shamet and Frankamp as our starting guards.

LS, CF, ZB, MM, SM is not going to be a bad lineup at all.

That's a pretty good guess as to the starters. The inexperience at point means we should expect some plays to break down, but there are a lot of players in that lineup who can improvise pretty well if a set play breaks down.

MM at PF is interesting. He might give up some bulk and banging ability on D, but not many PF's are going to be able to defend him. Play him loose - he pops a 3. Play him tight - he's on his way to the hoop (with a wall of Shaq screening the secondary defender).

We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

                            • When do summer scrimmages begin and are they usually open to the public?

                              • IIRC, players will be on campus next week for summer school. Scrimmages are generally open to the public. Sessions with coaches present are generally not open to the public.

I've never gone to a scrimmage, but the general consensus is that us civilians will never know when scrimmages are held. You arrive at CKA some time before 5 (because the doors are locked after 5) and hope to see a scrimmage or run into a player who might tell you when (if) the next scrimmage has been set up. The players just get together and decide on a time that works best for most of them.
