I tell you what, that Zach Bush is going to blow the doors off it this season. He must be good, he's a senior.People who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do. -Isaac Asimov

Got to be careful about what you see at Shocker Madness. Players are likely to let the new guys show what they can do. In games the other team is trying to prevent them from showing what they can do.
Just a few examples of Shocker Madness performances that didn't translate into regular season performances: Kyles was a sure All-Valley pick coming out of every Shocker Madness. Nurger was a strong post player who could stroke 3's like a guard in his single SM appearance. Barney had some good moves, a nice shooting stroke, and shooting range at SM. His foot speed and quickness was not challenged. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

I don't know what Gregg sees in Solomon. I would doubt that he will play very much this year and maybe never see the court. I've not seen him play and he is a walkon. However, Gregg evidently (without any scholarships to give), put out the welcome mat, made SS feel like he was really wanted, more so than his hometown team. This solidified his coming to WSU. Maybe this says something, maybe not.
Gregg is not against playing walk-ons of they deserve to play. I don't see either Barney or Solomon playing this year but I would not be surprised if Gregg sees that he could help the team in the future. If they can help in some way, Gregg will play them. JRS has played some critical minutes (very few), but Gregg sees him as an important member of this team.
Welcome to Steve Solomon

I certainly don't expect much from Barney or any of the walk-ons. It's probably a bad thing if the walk-ons play meaningful minutes as this means bad things (injuries, under performance, etc) for the 13 scholarship players.
That said, Barney red-shirtting last year seemed all kinds of weird. He already had a year at sunrise, and...you know...he's a walk-on. Are we limited to the number of walk-ons we can have? Or spots on the bench?
