Top 40 team going in to preseason. I'd say that's pretty fair.

It's gonna be a huge shock to dumbass Illinois State fans though. They're expecting us to freefall.

Dayton would go away. We go back to 64.
No team would play a first or second round game within 100 miles of their campus.
Teams must finish above .500 in their conference to be given an at large berth.
I don't really understand this. Do you recognize if they didn't have 68 teams, we would not have made the tournament? I am more a proponent of having all 11's and 16's be play-ins than I am doing away with them completely.

The other 2, I am a little more on board.

            They're in the play-in game.

When was the last time we didn't one-up them in something?

I am of the opinion that we were put in Dayton as a compromise between those saying our resume was unworthy and those saying the metrics warranted an 8 or 9. I believe they would have included us in a field of 64. Placing a number 4X beside our name after the bracket was released had to be done to justify the compromise.

Your color was almost unreadable on my screen, phlash, but I like the ideas. Like you, I think WSU would have been in a field of 64 anyway -- but even if not, 68 is such an artificial, goofball number that I'd prefer that the NCAA just go back to 64 and let the chips fall where they may. There's really no need for 36 at large teams, and your .500 conference record limitation would probably help reduce the number of at large candidates anyway.

                          • I still find it quite funny that UNI fans feel their program is parallel w/ our program. Some arguments from them are they want to see us sustain success w/o depending on Baker/Van Vleet. I don't put UNI's program even in the same breath as Wich St's... and our program is only getting better and will continue to as long as 3G is around.
