    SF - PA, ZB, MM
    PF - MM, RK, Willis
    C - SM, RN, Willis

Anything else will be a welcome surprise but I think CF, LS , PA, MM and SM will be a strong starting
five and we will have a deep bench

Hamilton is a Sunrise guy. His former coach sits on the bench. It would send an interesting message if a guy we brought in, placed, hired his coach, and spent one year in the program was to leave.

        My wishes for next year.

        1) Make open shots. While I agree that our offense often became stagnant and the ball got stuck in guys hands, the fact is we missed wide open shot after wide open shot. Our poor shooting percentage wasn't due to not be in able to get open, it was partially because we didn't make the open ones we got.

        2) Give me a 4 man rotation of big men that can finish at the rim. I'm not talking about 20 point scorers. I'm talking about putting the ball in at point blank. Closeup misses are another reason for disappointing shooting percentages.

I'm confident the future remains bright, just want to see better shooting.

To be fair, two of the guys you mentioned aren't guards.

Compared to who? He passed first better than anybody on this squad. We must have a serious pass first point guard arriving.

The jury is still out on Eric. However, one thing noticeable in the limited minutes he got is that he can get the ball in the basket. It isn't always pretty, but they still count.

Everyone on the floor should be offensively competent, not a liability, Kelly Wessel & Nurger were at times, but sometimes you gotta make a meal with the ingredients you got in the cupboard

I think the biggest thing is Shaq becoming a thirty minutes player. He, not Ron or Fred, was our best player in the tournament, albeit in spurts and not overall. I think he is the closest to "getting it." He can be a great defender and a low post scoring option if he can play the minutes.

I also want Conner to be a part of the team. This year he seemed hesitant to play, and Ron and Fred didn't exactly go out of their way to involve him. He needs to hunt his shot, aggressively, at all times. If he was the only exception taking all our bad threes I'd have been a lot happier. He can be our Jesperson. We needed an elite shooter SO badly this season it hurts.

Nurger and McDuffie are a little further away. They need a lot of strength and skill work. But I see a lot of promise. I think Nurger could have a career like Stutz's, and McDuffie is walking potential. If he reaches anything close to his ceiling he could be a scoring leader that no team can easily guard.

Kelly needs to find ways to get 6 points a game, every game. This year we could afford to offload scoring and essentially get nothing from PF but next year we will be scraping every position for points.

Ty Taylor and Eric Hamilton need to make major steps to stay with the program. They both have the talent to play here, but do they have the mentality? This summer will be a gut check for them. No one has more to prove. Taylor more than Hamilton, because of the numbers of guards we will have competing for a spot.

I'm not sure on the newcomers or Shamet. I'm not sure where the points will come from. At this point, the primary goal should be to win the MVC. With so much change I can't say where we'll be on a national level but we have no reason not to be the best in our conference. Postseason, anything could happen.

Don't we have an overseas trip scheduled this summer? Those seem to work wonders for a team. I am excited about the future.

Seems like they talked about one last year but postponed because it would be more valuable this year.

                      Can the incoming players participate?

I'm quite sure this was a dumb statement.

                          Possible 2016-17 starting five
                          G: Conner Frankamp (6.4 PPG, 1.0 APG)
                          G: Landry Shamet (8.7 PPG, 2.7 RPG)
                          F: Markis McDuffie (7.4 PPG, 3.1 RPG)
                          F: Zach Brown (7.2 PPG, 2.8 RPG)
                          F: Shaquille Morris (6.9 PPG, 3.4 RPG)

See, I told you there would be another prediction thread this Season and thought we might even be winning another game today. So now we look at next Season. To start with, Cotton and Carter would have come in handy for us today but they graduated. Replacing FVV and Baker will have to be done by committee. They did so much on both sides of the floor, it will take time. While this team can win the Valley and Dance next Season, it may take a spell to get it all clicking. Marshall earns his keep and will have a serious challenge on his hands. The Season after next? Then we will again be really, really good again.

As for the article's starting lineup, I liked it to begin the Season but will be focused to see if some of these players mentioned get beat out from time to time on a rebuilding mode. In terms of players returning, soon I'm sure 3G will be meeting with each player including Taylor and Hamilton as to what they need to work on to improve and whether they are projected to play more or less with the influx of new recruits incoming.

I like our recruits coming but still believe earnestly that we need to add another solid Juco Center if we can find a really good one. However, if Hamilton is improving at a rate he can play and help us, then Willis could play this 5 role with Shaq and Nurger and Eric can help MM and Kelly at the 4.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

If you're outside of the Wichita State circle, the future is the following:

                            - Marshall leaves this year (for a job yet TBD, maybe an assistant at Kentucky)
                            - WSU will be back at its rightful place in the middle of the Valley
                            - WSU will be back to irrelevance
                            - There is no one left on the roster worth a damn. It was all FVV and RB all the time.
                            - The recruiting has dried up
                            Deuces Valley.
                            ... No really, deuces.

I don't know what you watched this season but Connor was one of our best passers this season.
