I wonder if the Shocker coaching staff has prepared a Ranked Order table for current and prospective roster members for next years team? The following table reflects my thinking; note IMO Austin Reaves and CJ Keyser are freshman with comparable skill sets Landry presented to the Shockers this past season.

With how awful Rashard was this year, how bad must Eric Hamilton be? Amazing that McDuffie wasn't able to take more minutes at the four, or the three for that matter being that Brown was also horrible. And how about Frankamp? I imagine that without having to play him we probably would have had the #1 defense in the country.

Thank goodness for JUCOs, freshman, and walk-ons or we would be in trouble!

The sophomores all came on strong at the end of the season...including Kelly. We had a team slump for awhile.

Returning players that were in the rotation:
Frankamp, Brown, McDuffie, Kelly, Morris

Ineligible players likely to have been in the rotation:
Shamet, Allen

Returning players outside the rotation:
Nurger, Hamilton, Taylor

New Players:
Smith, Wills, Keyser, Reaves

One of the above players will not be on scholarship. At least three more will not be in the rotation. It is almost assured that the top seven will see heavy minutes.

I don't see Allen playing 4 at all, he's a big guard, 2/3. Also don't see McDuff at 2 guard, although he might be able to play in a pinch. He needs to put on some weight and give us more minutes at the 4.

Kelly was not good at finishing. His rebounding, screening and defense were well above average. He will be a valuable role player just on those traits alone. The ball ended up in his hands with the shot clock winding down way too often. He needs to be the guy crashing the boards and the 5th of five options when on the floor. But this stuff about him being out of the rotation, etc. is as nuts as Evan giving up his scholarship.

Nice critique. You must only focus on offense because about 10% of your post was accurate. Hamilton will not play until he understands the plays and team defense. Period. Guys who do that, as much as it displeases you will play for Marshall. Guys that don't do that get to hone their skills at a Juco after here in hopes they fit with another system better. That's the way it has been for nine years.

There are people on this board that are so worried about future lineups I'm not sure they paid attention to the present. Amazes me how great these recruits are that they will walk in and take two time NCAA tourney veteran's jobs.

Willis and Smith will get their opportunities but I guarantee you they will have to be serious learners to immediately jump to the front of the line.
