FWIW, I love that if we win, we get 3 games in 5 days. Our offense is so complex that we benefit a lot from teams not having a lot of time to scout us, and it shows when we get a lot of easy baskets in the NCAA Tournament that we don't get in league play.

Shoot all they have to do is hire Marty Simmons as a consultant. That dude has game footage of Coach Marshall's birth.

A few Vandy fans comments:

Our resumé IS better than theirs. They have an early season win over Utah that looks great now. That's really their only quality win. Against other teams in the field, they're 1-6. They lost to Tulsa, Southern Cal, Iowa and Seton Hall (in OT). They lost 2 out of 3 meetings with Northern iowa. They also lost to Alabama.

Sure wish Marshall was our coach. We have a more talented team top to bottom but will get out coached badly. So hopefully our shooters are ready to go so coaching down the stretch doesn't come into play.

they are known for killer D. Their senior guards appear to lead the team and it appears their 6-8'ish broad (i imagine athletic) guys man the middle. in that sense they seem somewhat like UT, but with a much longer bench.


living on the three doesn't seem like a recipe for success. hopefully we'll do a better job getting the ball to Mr Jones and our size can come into play. folks forget that we ourselves are not half bad at d.


would love to hear from some of you more knowledgeable types about the Shockers and what we need to do to win.
hopefully we'll get into a groove more quickly than we did last thursday. frankly, hope we are miraculously able to shed the mistakes and turnovers that leave us so vulnerable. regardless can't wait for Tuesday night

It was 4 Seasons ago. We were playing Pitt. and their fans were focused on the Zags, just knowing they could beat them. Ooops, we won 4 in a row. After each win, the fans mentioned just how off they were against us.

With this Shocker team, the hype early on was we were to be a top 10 team and we were indeed ranked in the top 10 early on.. The narrative was believable, and even real it seemed. Then came the adversity, the injuries, and 3 losses at the Tourney.

To describe the Final 4 Season, it reminded me of Moses Malone when asked how they would do in the playoffs years ago. His answer was 4-4-4. Likewise, we were picked 4th in the Valley, won 4 games at the Dance, which landed us smack dab in the Final 4.

Fast forward to Tuesday, the play-in-game. It's not to late for the original narrative, but we have to execute and put the ball in the hole? Our D. can hang with any team in this here Dance. Just like 4 Seasons ago, we led the Dance entries in key injuries. Now, if we start shooting the ball like we can and avoid so much foul trouble, who knows what madness our beloved Shocks can stir up before the curtains close for another Season.

I find it stunning that Vandy fans are talking trash about, well, anybody. They should have been a 2 seed in the NIT.

Should be some more eye-opening fun this week.
