I know this goes against the mindset here, but I would think if you give too much credit to MOV, it could lead to teams loading up their non-conf schedule with RPI 300s + and blowing them out by 20-30 points in order to help their resume. Also, that is why they obviously coined the term "good losses."

Calling him dumb and then badgering him, isn't helping the Shockers case at all. If you are going to rep Wichita with a major media influencer, at least be respectful so that he will listen to your solid arguments.
Your arguments ARE insightful and useful, and with the right tact, you may actually get him to consider them. But based on the approach you are taking, you are going to end up being just another of a bunch of condescending idiots for him to ignore. And that's a shame, because you have super strong Bracketology Fu.
Also, your political "identity" puts you in the weirdo camp.
Swap that out to something NCAA basketball related, gather your strong arguments, present them in a respectful way, and do something good for WSU!Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

Calling him dumb and then badgering him
I called his standard dumb (not him, his standard) and used a bunch of logical explanation to support it. If you read twitter whatsoever, you know I was extremely civil compared to much of what he gets.
He later posted that he disagreed with my thinking, but appreciated that I was using numbers (implying most responses are only emotion based) and he liked that I was approaching things from a unique angle.
He heard me out, appreciated my argument, but then completely and enthusiastically disagreed. No approach would have helped short of an hour sitting together in person. Now I can feel confident that I'm not missing anything in regards to his opinions. He simply ignores margin of victory, which I find to be utterly stupid, but I can't force him to change.

Besides, a guy like Pomeroy knows that not all opponents are equal, and he takes that into consideration in weighting margin of victory. But as between his calibration and the old RPI, a sledgehammer used to swat a fly, which ignores margin of victory altogether, how can anyone not prefer a metric that at least considers something that's obviously relevant? That's why the committee has pretty much abandoned RPI -- they KNOW it's wrong, whereas at least with the other metrics the quibble is just about how much consideration should be given.

I'm happy with wins and losses getting 80-90% of consideration and margin of victory being only a modest factor for adjustment. If you took 80% of RPI, 20% of KenPom, and came up with a blended ranking for use by the committee, I wouldn't complain. What I am not happy with is someone who says margin should be ignored entirely. How stupid is the following:
Palm's job is trying to predict what the committee will do
The committee chair says he looks at KenPom every day
Palm says he doesn't look at KenPom at all
What the heck!!!
