This would be a good time to do it.

The Dayton games for the last 4 in will most likely be 11 seeds. More likely to be 10 than 12. No chance of 13.

Yes, an 8 would be a step up, but not as far as you make it out to be.

Ben Carson is endorsing Trump. Decent people often simply lack good judgment. I think Seth Davis and Jerry Palm truly believe what they are saying, they just are clearly poor judges of resumes.

Palm I've always thought was worthless. I've always at least respected Seth's opinion, even earlier this season, he seemed to be pretty positive about WSU. But, when Palm started talking bad about the Shocks around tourney time, Seth started drinking the kool-aid. I have no doubt that it's a CBS thing to downplay the Shocks, even if it is just to make their own bracketologist look good.

            • Seth's always entertaining and usually likable, but only sometimes correct.

The first two make his misfires forgivable. Palm is a computer geek by trade and has the typical charisma to match, so he's mostly just irritating when his expertise is lacking.

Syracuse's RPI of 70 and 9-10 conference record are both in "uh oh" territory. Also, both Syracuse and Vandy have 13 losses. That's also approaching "uh oh" territory.

I think South Carolina with 8 losses is just more paletable. Easier schedule? Sure, but 13 losses is just a lot more to digest.

What does that even mean? If WSU gets in easily, and CBS downplayed WSU all year, how does that make them look good?

Looks like you can get 35-1 for WSU winning the championship. Interestingly, that is tied for 19th place with Iowa State. So according to Vegas we are still "in this thing".

It doesn't and it only shows them once again that Jerry Palm is the VHS tape in a digital world

You don't have to be douchy or anything, but I think some well-derserved crow will be in order after WSU was definitively NIT bound a short 7 days ago.

There's your 2016 Flip-flopper of the Year Award, Jerry. Congrats.

He either needs to change his analysis tools or give up. The bracketology game has passed him by.

We moved up 2 spots in his "last 4 in" ranking today. Would not be surprised if we move out of Dayton by selection time

Is it possible the CBS is attempting to frame what could possibly be the Cinderella story of the year? Frame WSU as lucky to even be in the tournament and then, if the Shocks do wel (which they have a history of in the Fred/Ron eral, play up the Cinderalla aspects to enhance ratings. After all that is the real bottom lone for network analysts. Being right is not necessarily that important to them.

During a Stage One Rem moment I had watching HGTV I had a dream that we were a 10 and played Texas in Denver.

                              • @SethDavisHoops: My last spot goes to Wichita State. Have better noncon strength of schedule ranking than Valpo, plus 1 loss 100+ compared to 4. Close call.
Just to illustrate the stupidity of saying WSU and Valpo are "close"...

                                WSU Valpo
                                RPI 46 49
                                KenPom 11 36
                                SOS 105 165
                                non con SOS 12 53
                                vs 1-50 1-1 0-1
                                vs 26-50 0-1 1-0
                                vs 51-100 3-1 3-1
                                vs 101-200 8-1 8-4
                                vs 201+ 11-0 12-0

Valpo has 4 bad losses vs WSU's 1 and lacks WSU's elite KenPom rating and elite non-con SOS. Also, without doing the full calculation, I can see from a glance that WSU's scoring margin was higher than Valpo's vs similar competition. Everywhere else Valpo merely ties WSU. That's a big gap. Like, 3-4 seed line type of gap. To say this is close is to show complete incompetence. Seth seems like a nice guy, but he needs to stick to in-game basketball analysis and stop trying to analyze resumes.
