His defense is starting to be, certainly not Cottonesque, but consistently very solid and disruptive. He's attacking the basket with authority. Limiting turnovers...11-12 from the line.

We are SO spoiled with what Ron and Fred give us the last 4 years...both again were fantastic. Just relative to what we saw early in the year I thought ZB was outstanding and I thought he competed, physically, as much or more than anyone on the floor. He wasn't getting backed down very often.
I think Zach Brown will be ready for Ron and Fred to hand off the "leadership baton" and the "go to player" label next year. This guy has a high high ceiling.

    • Even with all the crap that was going wrong early in the season, the thing I was most pissed about was Zach Brown's play. I thought he had figured it out, was going to be incredible, and he was making me look like an idiot.

The past 5 games or so, he is much more the player I thought he could be. The amount of room left between his current level of play(very good) and his ceiling is beyond exciting.

He has a high ceiling but I'd love to see what he can do when he is the guy first before I'm ready to say anything. He's too passive with Ron and Fred on the floor, and rightfully so.

Agree, although I think he is starting to pick his spots to be aggressive these last couple weeks. A lot less "happy feet" and indecision crap going on when he has the ball lately.

          • Proud of the fans and Mr. Wilkin's staff in packing GA last night. This time of year especially, last few rows tend to be sparse. Not last night. Did you see the line of people waiting to climb the stairs while the game was going on?

Filled to the brim. Very impressive.

            • Regarding Conner, I think 3G may have been a little pissed about the pullup 3 when we had a 3 on 1 fast break. CF got stuffed and 3G did not look happy.

Listened to the broadcasters last night and they said exactly the same thing when it happened.

MAY? It wasn't EH hot, and it wasn't getting trucked hot, but yeah he was steaming.

I actually thought those on the floor should have been chewed on as well, not a single person let him know the wolf was at the door.

I was wondering the same. CF already had the trainer looking at his shoulder earlier in the game, maybe he didn't want to risk injury to another player when the game was kind of get chippy with Nevada play.

                        • While SM and AG are obvious for most of the center minutes I think it is important to keep both
RN and BW tuned up by giving each 3-4 minutes per half and opportunities to prove what they can
bring to the table. BW has demonstrated situational value on defense and RN might nail a three
soon and suddenly get hot from beyond the arc and become another perimeter threat. Also, he
set some nice screens last night that most people don't notice. Nice to have options so I hope
GM keeps all four centers involved. Most of our remaining regular season games will offer GM
the opportunity to tinker and keep key players rested and healthy while involving key reserves.

3G was irritated. I'm guessing he was just as irritated with the Conner not getting it to Fred in the middle of the court on a 3-man break as he was with the shot. I don't have a problem with Conner taking a shot from there on a fast break but would prefer that come on secondary break situation. He was way too nonchalant and deliberate and he needs to be able to sense what maybe happening behind him. With the athleticism Nevada had on the floor he should have know that it was a good possibility that someone would be closing fast especially considering his deliberate handling of the situation.

                            • He was also hot that the player at the top of the key didn't communicat the wolf.
