Now that we got that sore loser douche outta here, let's talk about the game.
Free throws should have lost us the game. 11-22? Seriously? With Fred missing 3 of 4? Ron missing 2 late ones? Wtf? Connor's throws didn't even touch net. I'm kinda surprised we didn't find him more late.
The defense was stifling. We had our hands all over the ball and in the lanes. UNLV looked like lost little puppy dogs, tripping all over the place. They the most athletic team on planet earth, but look undisciplined and one-on-one-ish. That'll get em a decent record and should give us a quality win later on. Don't book on them making it very far in the tournament though.
I've never seen more crowd anticipation on one guy's shot than Conner's first 3 3-point attempts. It was crazy. The entire arena was on their feet before his shot hit the utmost trajectory. I really wish he would have hit 1 of them. That's all he'll need to go off IMO.
Fred in the first half was vintage Fred. He looked 100% in that half. Just so fun to watch. He dominated. Thank god we got that when we did. We needed as many points as we could.
Ugly win, but damn it, it's a win. We needed that. Gonna need a better effort on Saturday though.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

If the PoY trophy went to the most valuable player, I don't think anyone could make an argument against Fred Van Vleet. The difference between this team and the team that lost four in a row is simply unbelievable. Fred showed today how good he is by himself, but his real talent seems to be making others better. I don't understand how it happened, but since he came back Wessel is playing like a man possessed, Shaq seems to enjoy the game, and our defense went from 9th in the MVC to holding a team 33 points below their season average.
The shooting will come. Every year we are god awful at the beginning and then end the year shooting a solid 36-38% in our last few games. I don't have an issue with the shots were shooting, so the issue is just getting comfortable. It is encouraging to see Frankamp and the freshmen playing pretty good defense; by March those guys will have a chance to really contribute if they get their legs underneath them and start making shots. Little worried about playing Utah with this much of a cold streak going on, but we've prove we can win ugly.

You guys need to work on a halfcourt offense and handling the ball. We need to work on shooting the ball and free throws.
The most one sided thing about the officiating was in the second half Fred was hammered on every drive to the basket and no calls. Every time Zimmerman drove to the basket they would call touchy fouls.
I hope UNLV completely falls apart. You guys suck.ShockerNet is a rat infested cess pool.

You guys looked completely ****ed up thanks to our defense. And I mean, completely ****ed up.

OK, The Shockers won, almost fair & square. But, whether because of WSU defense, or not, UNLV played, by far, their worst game of the season, and yet, they had a reasonable shot to win this game down the stretch. Down 3 with a minute left is not exactly a blowout.
So I wouldn't be crowing too loudly were I a Shocker fan. Take the win and hope that major improvement is on the way...That said, congrats on the "W".

You guys are polite and happy before the game, but man, rack up the L, and you start getting an edge. You lost, ok? Lost at a team that's better than yours. Learn how to win on the road and play as a team. Oh and not turn the ball over every other possession.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

The bigs need to be stronger and finish around the basket. Fred would have had 8 assists with a little help.
Ron is still in a Florida funk.
I'm glad UNLV did not press us more. Our continual throwing the ball into the corner played right into their hands.
Fred was spectacular in the first half. Too bad we were forced to play him over 30.
Again, it was not pretty but it was needed.
Edit: Offensive funk. His defense was really good.Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

And I absolutely loved the rebbbbbbbbbbbels cheer late in the game. Did the Rebels even lead tonight? At all?
Honestly, that's one of the lamer chants I've ever heard. I almost went straight narcoleptic when that started going on.Deuces Valley.
