  • Here's a compliment for UNLV: Their full court press was the best I have seen in the past three years. It's the first time I have seen FVV bothered by one repetitively. Part of that was dealing with newcomers on our side, but most of it was because UNLV is just flat smothering with their press.

    • Some of these Rebel fans remind me of Mets fans when the Royals won: tears for days...

      • Just getting back from the game, I thought it would be a close game, I just didn't think it would be a close ugly game. For those who couldn't understand why UNLV wasn't ranked just watch the game again on DVR. WSU could have ezly won this game by 12-14 (I'm glad they didn't because I thought I was getting value on UNLV +8) not because WSU played well but because UNLV was so bad.......bad and undisciplined and thats not going to work well vs a Gregg Marshal coached team. I'm not sure what that says about WSU, their shooting was awful again and it looks like teams are just going load up on Ron and Fred and dare the others to make a shot. At the end of the day I'm happy, I won my bet and the Shox won the game. Maybe downtown on Saturday will bring 50% from the field....good night

          And they still lost.

          • Has anyone mentioned that fact that we won a tight game with Higgins ref-ing? That's a miracle all its own, isn't it?

And their fans are on their board throwing a fit that the MWC gave them a road game for the challenge.

I wasn't making things up when I said MWC fans are awful. I know the UNI board was infested with idiots before their NCAA tournament games against Wyoming and UNLV. We have actually gotten off pretty easy.

              • If the moon wasn't in a waning crescent and it wasn't the year of the sheep, UNLV probably would have won.

                Damn lunar and Chinese calendars!

Don't know why they are so mad --Evan let their guy sniff his chest.
Proud of Evan for being willing to console that player after the loss. He looks like he is crying. I've seen players do that before when they play the Shocks.

                    • That game was a big W. It was incredibly conducive to fan participation. We mucked up the middle with lots of digs and kept them out of their fast break game. Different team, different game plan. It was great hearing coach with all the praise for the little things that helped get the victory. Oh, and don't feel sorry for UNLV, they get to go home to the land of hookers and blow.

The clearly better team gets the benefit of the home game. Not rocket science.

This game ended up being competitive due to how each school's season has progressed, but last season when this was announced it looked almost like a buy game like NMSU. UNLV fans at that time were really pissed at the tough draw.

So I wouldn't be crowing too loudly were I a Shocker fan. Take the win and hope that major improvement is on the way...That said, congrats on the "W".

I'm glad UNLV did not press us more. Our continual throwing the ball into the corner played right into their hands.

Fred was spectacular in the first half. Too bad we were forced to play him over 30.

Again, it was not pretty but it was needed.

Edit: Offensive funk. His defense was really good.
On a couple of occasions, Fred's rest was less than a minute.

                            • Why in the world would one of the winningest road teams in the college ranks be afraid to play on the road? Home and home. Bring it!
