So I got tickets at cost to go to the game and watch Duke cream KU. They were great seats, Irv Cross, the CBS NFL broadcaster sat right in front of me, Dan Quale (the VP at the time) in the section below me.
Duke cleaned our clock ?? I know we were undefeted but come on, we lost by 2 points. REBELS totally thought they were going to destroy Duke again like the previous year.

Your fans went home with their tails between their legs like a dog that just got beat. And you all were the biggest bunch of sore losers I ever saw in my life. IIRC, there were a number of your fans arrested for malicious mischief. Again, I'd like to thank all the fair weather fans for making my trip to the national championship game memorable.

I remember watching that game. I was pissed. I've never loved UNLV, but that team was fun to watch, and I was definitely pulling for them against the hated dookies. As was stated earlier, there are all kinds of places to eat depending what you are looking for. Bars close at 2 am, unless the management just decides to close early. Last call is usually between 1:15 and 1:30 depending where you're at. As for gentlemen's clubs, I've been to several here for bachelor and birthday parties, and as much as I hate to say it, after living in both the Denver and Dallas areas, I can't recommend any of the local establishments.

        • If you guys are interested in craft beer, my best recommendations are Central Standard Brewing, and The Anchor, both just east of downtown.

Our 1926-1927 team led by All-American Ross McBurney would have clowned them into oblivion...

Hopping Gnome Brewery is right down the street from them too.

A hole in the wall, but damned good craft beer. Have a 'flight' of Gnome's. I've always liked the atmosphere and craft beer at River City Brewery. Of course there isn't any bad beer anywhere.

P.S. Attention Rebel fans; I haven't tried any of these, just check out the stars. :)

                  Sorry, Google is your friend.

Since the forum truncates that link, might be a good idea to point out where that link goes. That's a Google search I would have preferred to not be in my history on my work computer.

                      I'm not with him.

                      And welcome aboard Shockernet!

River City is one of my all time favorites, too. Agreed on all counts. I suggested Central Standard instead, since it's relatively new, and I feel has a unique atmosphere, and beers. Oh, however I should mention that they just have food trucks, so for food River City and The Anchor are both great.

I'm less of a fan of theirs so far.. All of their beers have a common flavor that I think might be from how they're treating their water or something (it isn't just me.. People asked me about it unprovoked once, since I'm known as a bit of a beer connoisseur), and their beers that should be hoppy never are. :\ But, I'm glad to hear that isn't the universal opinion, because I want them to succeed, too. Haha.

No freaking way, those players are like ... almost 50 years old now.

Whether or not the place is actually a place you should be going matters less than how many stars it gets. A UNLV fan would say, "look at all these stars...must be good."

Before you realize it, you are walking into the Red Garter and I'm not sure what happens to people in there...

                              • UNLV fans,

Our baseball program had the #2 ranked recruiting class for 2014. Ask us how the 2015 season went with all of those killer 'cruits. Nevermind... I'll just tell you: worst final record and performance metrics out of any WSU team since the sport was resurrected here under former Coach Gene Stephenson in the 1970's.

On the basketball side, the current WSU player with arguably the most NBA draft potential is a guy who chose to walk on at our program rather than get a full ride at a D2 school. I believe he was 0 stars out of 0 stars out of high school, if you could even find him on a recruiting site.

Take those caveats for what they are worth.

Seriously, it's like groundhog day around here with the puffing of chests from various visiting fan bases with regards to them telling us about the ranking levels of individual players, and then Gregg Marshall and Sons goes out as a team and throws them all into a clown suit. I can't count the number of schools who have fallen into this logical trap over the years, only to get owned by WSU. Suffice to say you would recognize the names. Now this might not happen on Wednesday, as our team has gone a little 'As the World Turns' here at the start of the season, due to really no fault of their own, but it doesn't change the fact that your game is a little tired around here.

Lastly, and this might be a shock to you, but little ol' WSU outspends UNLV by nearly 80% on men's basketball - $3.8M versus $6.8M. Weird... considering how apparently important UNLV basketball is to the historical fabric of this nation... or whatever.
