Kc shox is so notoriously negative that I think he is really just trying to reverse jinx the team. It's just not possible for someone to only say bad things every time he talks yet still come around like a fan would.

I've been trying to do some of that myself lately... Kinda like just planning on losses and then secretly hoping for the best.

Close game, but not having Anton in the lineup is going to prove costly. UNLV has beat Indiana and Oregon and barely lost to UCLA. Pretty darn impressive. If you said Indiana shot 46 percent from the field and 55 percent from the 3 point line, I would say how bad did UNLV lose by. Having Fred back is great, but even he said he's still being careful and hesitant (understandably so). They held dangerous Yogi to 9 points, what do you think they'll do to a 80-90 percent Fred?

Shaq won't go 6 for 7 against these guys and the entire team is shooting horribly this year. We lose by 8.

My hopes are high however. If we can go 5-0 the rest of the way in the non-con, we're back in business for an at-large. Crossing my fingers.

Did you also see that they destroyed Big West power Cal Poly at home 74-72?

The 11-12 team was very good and will be fun to compare ar the end of the season. VanVleet over Ragland, Frankamp over Kyles, Baker over Murry, senior Grady and junior Hall is a toss up. Freshman Shamet over senior Williams. Senior Smith over sophomore Brown. Stutz was a difference maker, but I'm pretty sure he had plenty of doubters 7 games in. Maybe as many as sophomore Morris, who could certainly move him out of position.

Williams was a junior, just because you like to nitpick stuff too.

I watched both teams play. Both would have destroyed any shocker team ever. Basketball was different in that era. That's not meant to be a knock on your team.

My prediction for Wednesdays game is that the Rebs press a lot and cause turnovers. The Rebs interior passing is very good, and it helps that our big men can shoot from 15-17 ft as well as complete well timed passes to the wings when the defense gets sucked in. If we have to we'll start attacking the paint with our guards to draw fouls. McCaw is longer and much more athletic than either of your guards - and he is a mismatch for your forwards. I can't deny the experience and toughness Baker And VanVleet bring will pose a difficult challenge. Nwamu is built like a linebacker, but moves like a guard - He and Seegears would be challenged by Baker/VanVeleet at full strength but that doesn't seem to be the case. On top of that - Our second line is good enough to start for most programs, From the last 3 games the shockers played it looked like your second team was still pretty green. There will be no let up in intensity from the Rebs.

Rebs win 80-74, but don't worry too much. It won't be a bad loss for you.

I don't think I ever compared FVV to Joe, that said the 2011-12 team would b!tch slap this years team....anyone who says otherwise has little basketball IQ. I would bet all my tip money from serving Arnie Palmers at the club on 2011-12 shox vs 15-16'. I don't have time to look up the exact stats but that team averaged close to 38% from 3 and over 53% from the field. Let me know when this team shoots those numbers for a game. 2012 was a senior dominate team that went 7 deep with Toure', Ragland, Williams. Smith, Stutz, Kyles and Hall....with Cotton getting decent minutes by the end of the season. Who on this team would/could check Hall and Stutz in the post? Answer: No one. If they double down, Ragland shot 50% from 3. Smith and Toure' would dog Baker, Fred would get his but that would pretty much be ball game. This years team will not be a 5 seed and actually 11-12 should of been a 3 or 4 seed. Like I said that team beats this years team by 10+ every time....

Those guys were good but imo, none of those guys were as good as Fred and Ron are now (when healthy). Fred, Ron, and Evan are winners who know how to win close games and gut out wins when they don't play well. Hall was not nearly as good as he was the next year when we went to the Final 4 (I think he may have averaged 4 points and 4 or so rebounds).

Who on here gives a crap about UNLV 25 years ago? Do you really care? They are old news that only someone from UNLV would care about. We are living some of the greatest teams and players in the history of WSU. That is all I care about.

I've watched them play a couple of times, and they are probably more talented in the post than we are. That being said, their best big guy is a freshman that still looks like a freshman. I'll take the AA guards and decent bigs over decent guards and freshmen stud big guy any day. They're a lot like last year's Utah team, only without their stud point guard.
