      NIT = 32
      CBI = 16

      Oh, I believe our 3 NIT and 1 CBI team all play first round games at home.
      :good:
      SFL is back!

        I'd always been against that idea until this year. The fact that Illinois State got snubbed, and the trend of leaving more and more mid-majors out, makes me think that our (mid-majors) only chance at having a legit shot at getting into the NCAA Tourney year in and year out is by having a 128 team tournament. I don't like the 128 team idea, but I feel like it's our only option.

        • I think some of you may have missed the other part of his suggestion, (Bobby Knight) that the bottom 64 have to beat the top 64 on their home court.

          Do you guys think that a BCS guy (Bobby Knight) is going to come up with an idea to help power conference schools or the little guys?

          As always Doc, you're analysis of Bilas and a Duke degree is right on. I usually can tolerate all this BCS trash, but tonight was just too much and over the top.

          Talk about NO RESPECT, if you're not in a BCS conference, these guys don't want to talk about you.

          I'm thinking about just not watching any game that doesn't have a non-BCS team in it.

            I still feel that most MVC teams in a 128 Tourney would be in the Top 64, and the ones in the Bottom 64 would have the potential to beat some of the BCS teams in the Top 64. I'm not against weeding out some of the automatic qualifiers earlier, and it wouldn't totally remove "Cinderellas" because those teams would still have the shot at beating the BCS teams.

            A 128 Team Tourney would be extremely hard to pull off and it might remove some of the thrill or prestige that comes with being in the NCAA Tournament. Of course there could still be BCS Bias by putting Bottom and Top Mid-Majors together, but at least it would give teams like Illinois State a shot.

            • If you make it 128 team tournament, you`ve basically eliminated the need for the NIT. 8)

              • The other thing we could do is make it so that the top 64 teams are all BCS schools and get rid of all the little guys in round one, and then have a 64 team BCS Tourney.

                This sounds like a GREAT IDEA for BCS schools, but not for the other schools.

                • drake who lost 3 games. is a 5 seed.
                  last year duke lost 11 games.
                  Duke was a 5 seed. and lost to VCU
                  This year, Illinois State lost 9 games, 3 of them to drake.
                  And didnt make the tournament.
                  see the flaws here.

                  • 128 teams is not the answer. Then we'd be arguing why teams 129, 130, 131, etc. weren't allowed in..

                    However, the committee totally flunked out on this year again. Never have I seen so many illogical seeding. I don't even think they know how to count with some of their placements.

                    Anyone arguing for Arizona State to be in is a flippin' retard.

                    The committee has made it obvious they want it to be a BCS lovefest. I'm on the side of not caring much about the tournament this year with so many BCS garbage teams in it with so many mid-major eliminating each other in the early rounds.

                    It's all a joke. They all can burn in hell for all I care.

                    • First, Drake didn’t do the league any favors by blowing ISU out in the championship. I truly believe if it was a single digit win that ISU would have slipped in. The 30-point rout made it look like it was Drake and then a steep drop off for the rest of the Valley.

                      Also, how in the world did 11-loss OU receive a 6 seed? They lost at home to the kitties who really struggled on the road throughout the season. And don’t say RPI because supposedly it’s irrelevant now.

                      • I have know clue at all they didnt deserve a six seed more like a 11 or 12 seed. I personally think Drake and ISU both got screwed.

                          Duke was a 6 seed last year.

                          Illinois State is 0 for the NCAA tournament field. Find me another at large in history you can say that about.

                            I don't necessarily want 128, but the Dickie V argument is crap. You go pick the top 128 and then look at who is left. There would be no argument as no one in their right mind would waste time making a case for the MU's, Iowa State's, and Indiana State's of the world.

                            Basically every team you've ever heard of that's .500 or better would make 128.

                            • 2 things come to mind here. Politics and money. No wonder there was such an outcry with the some of the big shots 2 Seasons ago when the Valley slipped in 4 Teams. They, moaned, they groaned, and interupted the Spokesman over the Selections when he tried to explain it to them.

                              Then came my best part. Bradley beat KU, and WSU beat Seton Hall and Tennessee and we both made the Sweet 16. Oooops. SHHHHH! We silenced the critics that year. How dare them allow 4 teams from the Valley??? Even if we did send some very good teams home that got in our way. This all defied logic and definitely stirred up a hornets nest.
                              Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

                              • Now those hornets are badly stinging the heck out of us for doing it. How dare we crash "THEIR" party by sending 2 of our teams to the Sweet 16.

                                Then the adopted a new slogan for the Selection Committee...

                                "Fool me once..."
