  • The article just mentioned that Landry will plan both pg and sg at WSU, which is something that we have known all along since Marshall has always described him as a combo guard and players like Ron and Toure have already played that role in Marshall's system. Nothing really new there, just some good info on the drills they use to get guards ready.

    • I'm concerned about longterm ankle health for Landry.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

Exactly, pretty common for that sort of injury. No worries, he will be ready next year.

It is just muscle atrophy, not a systemic problem.

Yup, if you've ever had a cast that covered a joint (ankle, wrist, elbow etc) you know exactly what he's going through.

              • That atrophy crap is a *****. Been there done that. Lost a good amount of vertcal. Used to grab the rim...after injury...nary grabbed the rim again. Landry is young...but he stands a good chance to loss a few inches off that vertical of his unfortunately. :(

                      • My point above wasn't geared toward the drills that all wings/guards run. The thing that impressed me about Landry and points toward him being a point guard candidate was the coaches comments regarding Landry's mental approach to the game. It is a little unique for a young guard to be interested in watching video and asking questions. This cerebral approach plus his athletic talents point toward a strong point guard candidate. He already has exhibited imo some play making/point guard skills but these personality traits toward leadership is NEW to me.

                            • To date, Shamet has been the definition of "broke dick." Let's hope he returns to the duty roster with a mind to accomplish the mission and an able body.
