    • Landry can wear whatever color of shirt he wants. If he likes to wear redshirts that's fine. Maybe someone can get him a red not a state shirt. Of course if Fred and Ron tell Landry to wear a yellow or a pink shirt I suspect he will follow.

      • I don't view Kunkel with the ill will that some on here do, but with regards to Shamet, I agree with @WSUwatcher:: I don't think he's providing us with any new information.

Either you have some KU in you that you continually keep denying or you're banging his girlfriend (if he has one).

By now you probably know that I don't view Kunkel or most pundits who may not always agree with us about the Shocks too badly (with the exception of Gottlieb...dude cannot help himself). It just doesn't bother me that much. I love when we get positive notoriety because it increases our brand, but with regards to criticism, it's not high on the list of my worries.

No comment on the last half of your sentence.

I'm just wondering what the words "positive" and "notoriety" have to do with Will Kunkel and Wichita State? I just don't see it.

Sorry. Should have been more clear. When we get love in the media, I really enjoy it. When we are criticized in the media, for the most part, I don't worry about it too much.

Not saying Kunkel is out here winning Edward R. Murrow awards, but I don't really have any animosity towards him.

                  • Considering that no one in the media can affect the Shocks' position in the tournament, this may be a good time to trot out the old reliable, "All publicity is good publicity."

Not true that "no one in the media can affect position in tournament"

                      • This may not be a popular way to look at the Landry issue, but... If he's unable to play tomorrow, that leaves us with 3 regular season games left. And we know our margins are very tight to continue into the NCAA tournament(I expect to make it still), but say he does come back for the 3 plus St Louis and somehow, unfathomably, we slip up... Worth?

But the reverse is just as true: what if he doesn't come back and we were to go on a terrible losing streak and miss the tournament? We would constantly regret not pulling his redshirt.

No matter what happens (unless we win the whole tournament), we are going to question "what if" and wonder if we should have gone with the other option.

                          • Kunkel is alright in my books. Stepped on some land mines he should have clearly avoided when he got here, but since then I haven't seen anything that should get the natives so riled up as they do when he posts something about WSU. I don't think his info on Landry is anything more substantial than what you'd get on a message board, but nothing worthy of badgering him about.

                            • I think my vote is for Landry to sit. Without FVV and Ron next year, they will need an experienced guy for four years. I think CF and ZB are finally starting to assert themselves a bit more and find a niche within the offense...adding LS to that could upset that apple cart. I know Ron came back and provided a needed boost his freshman year, I just don't know if LS is what this team needs. I concur with the above post which said (paraphrasing), "If LS was 6'10" and the solution to our inside game, yes."

With all that said, if he comes back and is the boost the team needs, so be it. I won't argue with success!

I loved what ZB and CF did against NMSU, but I'm not ready to say they solved their timidness problem yet based on one game. I'm perfectly ok with whatever Landry wants. If he wants to use a year up to play in the MVC Tournament and NCAA or even NIT if it came to that. I'm ok with it. It's his career. I'd love to have him for 4 full year, but I'm also not ready to say in 4 years we wont have recruited another player capable of leading this team.
