Boy, has Indiana State imploded or what. Coach Lansing has lost that team. The seem to have flat quit on him at this point. Something's going on with that team.
I wasn't anticipating have to really think hard about who to pick in their game Saturday at home against Bradley buy now I am not sure at all about that.

Thursday in St. Louis is still a mess because it looks like Loyola and Indiana state will win (they have drake and Bradley this Saturday) while Mo State will lose (they go to SIU this Saturday). We will have a log jam of 8-10 teams in the 6th through 8th place spots.
8-10 is not that bad for an 8th place team. It got me to thinking just how bad drake and Bradley have been and how equal the conference is 2 through 8 (2nd place will be either 13-5 or 12-6, just a few games ahead of 8th place). There is just a huge gap between the rest of the league and those two teams.
It looks to me like Evansville should get the 2 seed since they have a home game against UNI Saturday while on the other hand, Illinois St has to play here on senior day. Even if they both lose, Evansville probably has the tie breaker for the 2 seed. They split head to head this year but UE has the higher rpi tie breaker. I want Illinois state on our side of the bracket so we can own them twice over the course of a week :)
and I want Evansville on the other side so the possibility of losing in the finals is against them and no one else. Mock and Balentine deserve to dance but it's a tall order getting there through us. They are about #80 so not too bad at all. They are the only team I could stand to drop one against and if they get in, I hope they play a big 12 team first...I'd sure enjoy watching them beat a big 12 team.Last edited by Dave Stalwart; February 25, 2016, 09:32 AM.

Mr. Stalwart, I agree with you on Bradley and Drake being miles behind their remaining competition and as such I discounted them along time ago. I believe Ill. St. and UNI are clearly the 2nd-3rd best teams in this league with Evansville 4th. If given my preference I would like to play Evansville at any point during the tourney. They have not shown that they are capable of beating us and since they only play about 6 guys if they can advance (something they are not accustomed to doing) I don't see them holding up physically playing on back-to-back days and this makes a road to the championship much easier for WSU. Unfortunately, it appears that our road will be UNI-Ill. St after winning our first round game. Even though Ind. St. appears to be in deep turmoil, my preferred opponent would be Mo. St. Nothing I have seen from them indicates that they are capable of even competing with us.

I definitely like the idea of getting a few more cracks at the team's that knocked us off though so we can get the chance to remove all doubt. It would be a good test to face UNI and Illinois state both.
