You guys are funny. The conspiracy theories are strong recently. 99% chance that it was an announcer who just screwed up. They mess up their stats all the time. Bruce and Craig anyone? Or, how about Scott City, IA?

It was a mistake. Call it incompetence if you like. Trying to build up Seton Hall with lies? Nope.

How do you look at a score of a game and mess that up? It certainly isn't rocket science or Jamar analytics.

Most announcers hype the particular game while broadcasting. You need people to believe they are watching an important game so that they stay tuned.

During a WSU game on any network you will receive favorable comments because that is how things work, but there isn't a Doug Elgin conspiracy driving it.

He did not. WSU doesn't get to play at Phog Allen, for the same reasons we don't get to play at Rupp, but I'd say a NCAA tournament game lessens your perceived differences.

On what planet does WSU having a large lead in the first half and leading throughout most of the second only to lose in OT by 4 in a game where Seton Hall got every favorable whistle humanly possible translate to "Seton Hall won handily"?

I'm sorry you took umbrage to my post, I didn't realize I wrote it in Greek....my bad. Anyway, you got a bunch of knuckleheads making a big deal about an announcer who exaggerated the facts of a game. B.F.D. Mark Adams and Mitch Holtus do this all the time, in fact, they'll even 'pump up' WSU in a loss as long as it was close and to a good opponent.

You've got some folks on here whose head is so far up WSU's arse (with Fever being the first in line) that they'll split hairs, find a reason to be offended or get their panties in a twist at the least insignificant comment they deem unworthy. Give me a freakin' break.

I don't post on here often but I've been here a while, I watch every game I can. I take a great interest in this basketball team, school, and fans....

At some point this "banter" and "friendly disagreements" becomes absurd. If someone was visiting this board I would think it was immature and unmoderated and just an unpleasant place to be. Please moderators...I'm asking that when it turns into personal assaults and stupidity just give each person a warning then give them a vacation from the board. This has just gotten absurd...

Here is my theory:

1. Winning handily cannot mean winning in overtime. If you are tied after 40 minutes, you didn't win handily regardless of OT margin.
2. Winning in regulation by less than 10 points is not winning handily.
3. Saying that Seton Hall won handily means giving them +10 points in regulation.
4. If it is acceptable to make a statement that acts as though a team scored +10 points in regulation, announcers should be saying that we beat USC, Alabama, and Seton Hall and went to OT with Tulsa.

Im expecting someone who works for fox sports to say Evansville competed handily today and almost won handily in the blowout loss to WSU

The jury is still out on whether or not WSU won handily today because WSU is not in the big east. They are probably really confused.

Your sentiment is understood but this is a shocker fan forum and Fever is a great fan that works hard to call out trolls and one in particular.
