I just don't see any world where Syracuse should even be close to getting in with 12 losses

        • St. Mary's loses. Typical.

Another 1 seed in a conference tournament loses. Typical.

It's a wash. St Mary's resume is filled with 200+ teams and they have some bad losses

Plus they didn't win their league by four games.

                • Who do you guys think you should root for in the Syacuse/Pitt game ? Which team has a better shot of not making the tourney if they lose ?

I just said on another thread that I'm going to have to wait for Jamar to tell me which has the resume that we should be cheering against, as I've heard some say it's a play in/play out game. If one is definitely in, I hope it's Pitt. I can't stand Syracuse and Boeheim, but I will pull for them if it's what's best for the Shocks.

                    • Fortunately, both teams look like total crap so far in a 2-0 shootout at the 16 minute mark in the first half.

Always root against Syracuse, regardless. Always. **** Syracuse.

Yeah, I am not a fan of Boeheim. Besides, I am seeing that Syracuse might get credit for playing without Boeheim on the bench...much like WSU hopefully getting some slack for not having Fred. The two situations should be handled differently. Fred didn't play due to an injury...something generally out of his control. Boeheim missed games because he broke rules...something VERY MUCH in his control.

                          • I think Pitt is a fraction better off than Syracuse. With that said, either way, the loser will have an RPI of 70+, a losing conference record, and will be 100% out. Even the winner would be on the bubble with a blow-out loss to UNC tomorrow.

I'm torn. I think the winner is in, but with Syracuse being a half step behind Pitt, them winning today and then losing big tomorrow would be the most likely scenario where both miss out.

If you hate Syracuse, feel free to root for Pitt.
If you truly want the low percentage, but possible option of both going to the NIT, root for Syracuse.

                            lol

It would have been better if Cuse had beat Pitt once in the regular season then I think clearly Cuse would be better than Pitt and you would root against Pitt but with Pitt sweeping Cuse it makes it much closer. Some people are saying Pitt is better some Cuse is better. Cuse lost twice to Pitt and losing a 3rd time would make me think Cuse losing would make them worse off because of 2 more losses than Pitt and they lost to horrible Saint John's and because they would get swept 3-0.

In any event I wish both teams would lose. It is close.
