Perry is the only thing holding that program together the last few years and arguably the only missing piece to a Wichita State program that has finished ahead of the "flagship" the last 3, going on 4 years.

He would have fit in beautifully.

Very much agree. Perry is a great kid. Chose a different university, but still, a very solid kid who comes from a great family.

I woke up to find an entire thread on the Phog lamenting the lack of a court storming last night. It's going to be a good day.

KU fans have claimed for awhile now that we make fun of them out of jealousy, and deep down I always wondered, but after reading that thread, they really are ridiculous.

I very seldom venture over to the phog but was amazed to see like a 15 page topic on Wichita State, Over 14 pages on our losses and about 5 posts since we started winning. Wow I thought they were too good go worry about little ol' us. I guess WSU fans are insufferable and not fit to live with according to most of them. Ku fans are a odd bunch.. They practically had a parade when their baseball team beat WSU last year. For a fan base that is largely invisible when it isn't basketball season, I must say it was very strange.
It's like they follow other sports but they truly don't give a rats unless they feel obligated to make an ass of themselves.

KU is mediocre.
Perry as a Shocker would make WSU top tier title favorites.
Excessive criticism of Perry's school choice is petty.
Perry is a good kid playing hard for his school. I respect that.
KU wants no part of WSU this March.

I agree, but I would take this one step farther to say that I actually feel a little sorry for Perry. He's out there busting his ass, playing angry, if you will, just to watch the majority of his teammates come with nowhere near the same level of intensity or heart. He has to have been raised right, or he would've let that get to him, and he hasn't. The rest of them should go tear down a goalpost or something.

Here's a fun random stat for you. Kansas has now lost 11 straight Big 12 road games played outside the state of Texas.

Their last win vs Big 12 on the road outside of the state of Texas was OVER TWO YEARS AGO, at Iowa State on January 13, 2014!!

It's a perfect storm that creates a depressing scene..

-Perry Ellis, it's just the
right place at the wrong time for him.

-This KU team looks like they've hit rock bottom.

-Self.. You wonder if he's merely lost interest in the job or if he's planning a move to the nba.

-The Diallo and Bragg playing time fiasco.

They've seemingly been on the decline since winning it all in 2008 and no analyst, fan of coach seems to have the answer. I think going after the one and dones and not building a team is what doomed them. It seems like they could have built a team around Perry, but with Danny Manning leaving and their bad guard play the past 4 years, it never materialized.

Kansas is going to be pissed coming off this loss when Kentucky comes to town Saturday. I got a bad feeling Kansas is going smoke Kentucky Saturday at least for once most of you will be rooting for Kentucky for a change.

While winning at AFH is always tough, I think the only thing in danger of being smoked by KU are doobies. I think this will be a close one and could go either way.
