The bottom line is that unless a team is bringing in a top-10 rated recruiting class to replace outgoing starters, they aren't going to get the pre-season respect they probably deserve.

Eh, preseason polls. We could win the National Championship this year, and they wouldn't put us in the top 25 next year because of the seniors we lose this year. Duke won the National Championship last year and lost essentially their entire team to the draft, and they are top 5. KU brings in one guy (who may not be eligible) and returns essentially the same squad (minus Oubre) that was mediocre last year and they are top 10. I expect it. It doesn't bother me. And it continues to feed the team. I like that.

We could win the national championship and not be ranked #1 in the final poll....

Teams like Villanova, Iowa State, Virginia and Oklahoma don't really fit that bill though.

I get that it takes a lot to get over the perception, deserved or otherwise, of teams like Duke and Kentucky. Some of these other teams have had less, done less, and brought in less.

I hate Villanova, they're not even as talented as we are, with a coach who isn't even as good as Marshall. And yet, they're ranked higher and are always expected to be "contenders" and they're in a relatively easy conference, yet they never get trashed for it.

I feel like preseason rankings have alot to do with which teams have the biggest fan bases and will get them more viewers/subscribers.. What do you all think?

Don't underestimate the NCAA's ability to overlook the rules for its favorite teams.

Nothing will happen to UNC for this season. The process takes so long and UNC is maximizing their appeal times and process such that this season is safe.

Who the hell cares where Creighton's ranked? They are completely irrelevant to the status of our
team. I'm dumbfounded by the need to push the Bluejays down to pump us up. We'll kick ass and take names regardless of what they do.
