I would view things differently if he didn't have a degree or if he hadn't had the chance to play the 1 spot in college. Both of those check boxes are full and his development is probably limited vs. the professional basketball environment.

With all that said - I hope his number one goal is a second final four & national championship.
The last sentence is right. Ron may also be able to be in the rafters at Koch with another good year. I also belive that Ron could help himself come draft time in the NBA next year after playing with offensive options such as Conner and Markis. Teams won't be able to focus on stopping Ron as much as they did this year.

I think Baker will play in the NBA but he needs to improve his range and consistency. I think he will after his next season at WSU.

While a truly admired TC most teams backed off of him and EW and focused on stopping Ron.
CF will certainly not be anywhere near TC defensively, but other teams will have their hands
full stopping him offensively. I am hoping that MM and LS will garner attention defensively,
as well, taking a lot of the heat off of BOTH RB and FVV. I expect both to have great senior
years, lead the team to another F4, and hopefully really get the NBA scout attention they deserve
in the process.

Agreed. WSU won't be as defensively strong next season, but will be MUCH strong offensively.

so does Ron play some 3 next year when Conner becomes eligible, or does Conner come off the bench as the backup PG?

Yes to both. The wing guard isn't very much different to play than the wing forward.

Baker at the 3? No way. Brown, Wessel, and MM have that spot covered. I see Baker at the two and one, with CF backing up him and Fred as needed.

RMS Do you really believe that at the end of games, they won't put our best free throw shooters together. That will happen all the time. They may not play together a great deal at other times, but I guarantee you they will at the very least when we have a lead to hold and expect the other team to foul.

                      • ZB, EW or MM NOT the shooters RB and CF are. With RB and CF on the wings defenses won't
be able to collapse as much on FVV opening up the lane for him and if one side collapses you
know FVV will see it and dish it to the open SHOOTER

                        • I remember Gregg once saying that Ron played some 4 in the Ohio State game towards the end when Ohio State made the run so that we could have another ball handler (and presumably good free throw shooter as well) on the floor.

                          • Are there any recruits named Dennis?

I really want Ron and Dennis on the floor. Now, I'm just confusing myself.

We best be getting another PG ready besides CF. I'm hoping for at least a 4 man rotation at the 1/2 and, by mid season, FVV and Ron almost never needing to play 30 minutes.

                              • I agree with ST. We need to find another point guard to replace Fred. I don't know if we have another Fred type of point guard but we have plenty of other good possibilities. If we don't have another Fred, I feel good that we can find another Joe Ragland (who became a good point guard but was really a combo guard). Conner, Tyrone, and Landry may all be nice point guard candidates.
