Guess I should have specified the portion I was referring too. "Look, I'm all for giving people a pass for emotional responses" I don't think that's even remotely close to the Norm for this day and age. case in point ,,just about any utterance from the hollywierd and political idiots . Once it's uttered the Media ride it to death ,, no matter if there is or was an apology, that just ends up a was it sincere or was it too late ,too soon ? circus. if the opinion is that the truth comes out when drunk or in the heat of the moment ,,then that's the standard to live bye. if not then anybody should be able to say anything in "in the heat of the moment" without repercussions. Just sayin lolFrom the road I listen (Tune In radio) at home I watch ( season Ticks )

"First I want to apologize for my poor choice of words used in jest towards a player I respect and know," Harrison tweeted. "When I realized how this could be perceived I immediately called big frank to apologize and let him know I didn't mean any disrespect."
First, could somebody explain the joke or is the "words used in jest" just a bunch of BS to try to minimize what was actually said? And is he sorry about what he said or by how some people could perceive what he said? So is it wrong what he said or is it wrong that I perceived what he said wrong?
What happened to the I did it, I was wrong and I'm sorry apologies? Who cares about how it is perceived, or if anybody was hurt or offended.

A black kid calling a white kid a "n*****" is not the same as a white kid calling a black kid a "n****". Maybe it should be treated the same, but that is just not the reality of the situtation. If Frank and said "f*** that cracker" would it be the same as if he had said "f*** that n****"? No, because Andrew isn't white. If you call a homosexual a "******", then it's a hate filled hurtful comment. If you call your brother a "******" then, while still vulgar and wrong, it is just an insult. The real problem I have is the "f*** that" portion of the comment. That's what demonstrates malice to me.“Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.”

This turn of events really bothers me. We should just let the whole "F that N" thing go to bed, and instead, concentrate on prematurely crafted tattoos.
CBzGNBmUkAMNKX7.jpgThere are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if the person being offended didn't accept an arguably insincere apology.

A racial slur only has power against the race where it's intended as a slur. The word is not wrong in and of itself. The word is wrong because it's been used for centuries as a part of dehumanization of a group of people based on the color of their skin.
The word has no meaning when it's used towards a white guy ... literally none.
The word existed before white racists co-opted it. The word is not wrong -- the word when used with racial prejudice is wrong. The problem is that white people abused the word as part of racial prejudice for so long that we've lost the right to get the benefit of the doubt on its usage.Originally posted by BleacherReportFred VanVleet on Shockers' 3-Pt Shooting Confidence -- ' Honestly, I just tell these guys to let their nuts hang.'
