Just my two cents and I wouldn't be surprised if it was changed.

      What say you @ShockRef
I agree that it should be reviewable. Those points definitely shouldn't have counted. However, it just evened out for the non-flagrant foul on UK where clearly a hand was thrown to the face of the Wisconsin player and was reviewed and somehow not ruled anything.

      ... No really, deuces.

I totally agree...which is why he mumbled it. Were it more audible he would have been called on the carpet for it right then and there. But because he mumbled it he didn't think it would be heard and could get away with it. Bad sportsmanship and sore loser.

Watching ESPN right now with all of their Final Four coverage, not even a mention of the event happening. If it would have been Kaminsky saying something like that, I would have gotten text alerts on my phone last night, wall-to-wall coverage today, and the masses would be flooding into Indy.

That's how twisted things are in today's society. The media is ****** up. The double-standards are unbelievable.

I'm now even more happy that UK tanked it off and Harrison can crack "disrespect" from his couch Monday night.
It's stunning to me what the media will consider worth 24 hours a day coverage versus what they don't even deem worth a moment of it.

I don't think there's any comparison. What Jans did was extremely bad from someone who represents a university.

Personally, I don't give a damn about what Harrison did, beyond the problem I have with him going on TV and saying the equivalent of "**** that guy." The "if I can't say it no one should be able to say it!" argument is poor.

              • As for Jans and Harrison, all I thought was "dumbass". Same for Frankamp. Our society gets too worked up over no harm no foul types of transgressions IMO. I'm not defending any of them, but personally I don't care. They each need to take their punishment, whatever it may be, learn their lesson, and everyone should move on. It's not my job to shame them, that's someone else's. I will let that person/those people do their job.

I am sure that he has be told in no uncertain terms that he has used up his get out of jail free cards as far as his Shocker playing career is concerned.

Agreed. I'm just glad that it appears he has taken it to heart...at least for now. Marcus Foster is a good example of someone that didn't.

Not sure what happened to Foster. From the reports I heard about the young man his attitude did a total 180 between his freshman and sophomore years. Someone got ahold of that kid and helped to corrupt him although Marcus is certainly not blameless for that.

In addition to the attitude issues, Foster had multiple opportunities to "clean-up" his lifestyle. I think he fancies the NBA lifestyle more so than that of a collegiate athlete.

How do you punish a basketball player that will be almost certainly not attend a single class at Kentucky again?

I guess that's not the response I expected. I thought you'd respond to your "Interesting that people are more upset about what the Harrison kid did than what they are about Jans and he did."

I think most would say Jans' is far more egregious. He is in a position of setting a standard of behavior for the young men under his watch. He is also representing the university and his job depends upon good decisions, not to mention his responsibility to his family. He blew it big time on all counts and paid for it with his job and, perhaps, his career and maybe more.

Harrison was basically just stupid. What he said really doesn't "hurt" anyone, but perhaps his own image (which probably doesn't bother him). There is probably nothing the university can do at this stage of his college career that is going to matter. He isn't coming back and maybe isn't going to complete his education (if he did, he could do it elsewhere if need be). The upsetting thing about this situation is the double standard and the media's double standard. If Kaminsky had said that under his breath, it would have been a media circus. With Harrison, it's nothing more than a media "meh".

If he had gone to North Carolina, they could change the imaginary grade he got in his imaginary class.
