Not sure if Taylor is a PG or a CG. Everyone else is a combo guard. I would expect that come mid-December, Frankamp eats up most of the back-up minutes at the one and the two. Fred and Ron probably combine for 60 minutes. Conner probably gets 15-20. Shamet would be my bet to get th early minutes and whatever is left over.Livin the dream

The forward (3 & 4) position will consist of:
Wessel, Brown, and Kelly getting 55-60 minutes. Not sure about minutes for Hamilton and McDuffie.
Shaq will play 20 minutes as the post. BWam will play 10. Kelly and Hamilton are not posts, but could end up with time there if Nurger or yet unsigned JUCO don't materialize.Livin the dream

I do not anticipate that Frankamp will ever be the starting PG at WSU. Backup - probabluy.
The offense doesn't run as well with Baker at PG. Baker is 6'4" and has long arms. He has probably a 6" vertical passing release point advantage over Fankamp. With a lean, Baker probably has a 4" horizontal release point advantage over Frankamp.
For Fr minutes, consider this. Hamilton was considered "raw" coming out of HS. Brown was not. Both spent a year at Sunrise. Think about it. FVV was top-100 and SERIOUSLY underrated. Look at his Fr minutres. Still have questions about Fr starting or playing significant minutes?.

If by mid season, Ron is still the 1st/primary backup to Fred, things will still not be going as planned at point. While we may not have struck out at PG if this happens, it hopefully will just take a little longer for them to develop. However, if this time is needed for continuing development, we may need to look to the jucos for the following year at PG. I'm hoping between Taylor, Shamet, and Frankamp, one (or more) will emerge. I know Shamet is consider a combo guard, but he is known for his passing skills. At this time, I just don't see Henderson as a PG. He's shown nothing in games that makes me think he is anything but a SG, even when at point. In mop up minutes, Simon played point over Henderson. I'm assuming this was by directive from the bench. Simon's experienced roll as a walk-on would have allowed him to play SG, while helping Henderson at point. If this did happen, either Henderson failed or it wasn't noticeable as Simon looked to be the point.

Someone has to step up to play quality 5 with Morris (and he may be more of a 4 than 5). Outside of ONE game, BWam has not shown to be more than a spot player. Nurger's age is a concern for me. He is 6 months older than Glass who will be a senior next year! I expected a more mature, skilled player this year, even as a freshman. His lack of playing in the second half compared to the 1st half of the season does not give me warm fuzzies. If a juco does materialize, he will probably be more of a 4 than a 5. I'm not going to put it all on Hamilton's shoulders as a freshman, but isn't he playing post for Sunrise?
I think Kelly has the potential to take on 20+ minutes at the 4. Problem may be, What after that? Hamilton is my first choice, but that's a lot to ask (although Kelly did play 14 mpg this year).
This season, and its problems at the 4/5, did not answer questions for next year. McDuffie's main experience in HS is at the 3. Brown is more of a 2/3 who even played a little point for Sunrise. Wessel, too, played some point in HS and is the shortest of this trio, but definitely not short on heart and grit. They can all play the 4, I'm just not sure how far this team can go if they have to play a lot of minutes there. I have to admit, a quality juco 4 who could play a little 5 seems to be ideal at this time.

The same will go for next year.

Also BushWamakota has shown in multiple games of the second half of the season that he's a capable defender, not just one game. I agree that the D came in spot minutes but the subtle signs of a player are there.
