You need to remember that a lot of the time there were 3 to 4 other newbees out there with him as well and probably a little slow themselves in running the sets or not even being where they were supposed to be. I will give him a pass until they all get ahead of the power curve.

Also, it was a point in the game where you generally want to run some clock and then execute an end of the clock play. I'm thinking 3G may have deliberately set a couple of those up to see how the youngsters would handle an end of the clock situation probably knowing it was an area they need to work on. Now he has video evidence that is the case.

I'm guessing if Coach Marshall wanted to run an end of clock play with the newcomers, he would have done it on the last play of the first half. Instead, on that play, he brought back in some of the starters.

Ya gotta show the newbies in real time action how it's done in front of 10,500. Now they know what is expected. ;)

I think he thought it would be neat to have a combined total of 100 points in the first half.

Remember when Nancy Pelosi said about Obamacare:
"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:
"That's the definition of a stool sample."

Excellent call. His legs fly around just like Ramon's. Almost in an unathletic or uncoordinated fashion. Hard to describe. I only hope he busts his tail like Ramon did.

              • Ok.....we're getting a little out of hand when we start questioning Fred. Let's all take a deep breath...........

I think Fred has been fine, but not "All-American" good so far. Maybe it is the expectations with which people are viewing him under.

I forgot to add to just go back and watch the Memphis game. He dominated that game and was THE difference maker. He controlled the game and the play like no other player in the country. I'm not sure how anyone could expect more.

Well, he could hit more of his outside shots, for one. My questioning of Fred's performance has nothing to do with questioning his ability to control a game or make clutch plays when we need them. But he is clearly not playing his best right now. There can be a lot of reasons for that, which have been noted on here. But if you asked Fred if he's playing his best right now I'm sure he'd tell you he can do better.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

The moves he made right before half with six seconds left or whatever... ooof. He can knock down the clutch three like he did against Gonzaga. He can drive it like he did right before half. Either way... it made me really glad that he was the one who got the ball against UK.

                          • Fred's not perfect but he makes adjustments on his own. He'll handle that situation better than anyone else.

                            • Thank God we have a PG that is under performing and at that level is still one of the top players in America.

                              • I'm not seeing the underperformance here. Watch some other PGs and what they try to do. He's not hitting a high percentage of 3s, but otherwise he really is controlling the game.
