Just kidding. They moved the game back to 10:10 so it should all be on the U.
    Deuces Valley.
    ... No really, deuces.

However, if you lose everything, you can still work your way down into a dumpster-style RPI. CU will finish this year lower than LOLoyola, if even just by 1 slot around like 150. That alone would bring me joy :)

Yep, and they're gonna lose plenty. RPIForecast thinks they'll lose more than they'll win, in fact.

          • I suppose that Beaker fans will expect Temple to jet up into the number 2 spot in both polls.

Thank you Temple for an early Christmas present. I can already see the Johnson County dump filling up with Walmart-purchased KU t-shirts.

In 12 years, Self’s teams have lost just three games by 25 points or more. Two of those have come in the last 40 days, with the other a 32-point loss to Kentucky at the Champions Classic in Indianapolis.

“We’re exposed again, and it’s the same way we’ve been exposed in the past,” Self said. “And I hope that we come back with a renewed vigor or interest level in becoming a very competitive, aggressive basketball team.”

I hear you, Prez, and who knows -- maybe that'll be the spin from Gottlieb and his ilk. But when you lose by 25 as a several posession favorite, even if you're the Glorious Flagship and on the road, that is not going to be a quality loss.

If WSU does what needs to be done in Hawaii, they should move up, because somebody currently above them is NOT going to be in next week's top ten. Also kind of interesting what happened: the Chickenhawks got buried by a team with that played tough defense and has three good guards. Hmmmmm -- does that sound like anyone we know?

                • My favorite quote from this article and why I'm not worried about our shooting percentages or realigning our chi or whatever else:

In the locker room after the game, after Temple’s students had rushed the floor, Self stood before his team and talked about winning on the road. If you rebound and defend, Self said, you’ll always have a chance.

Sometimes shots fall, sometimes they don't. When they fall everything looks awesome and people talk about how good you are. The way we defend and rebound is what sets us apart from other teams. That's why we rarely get blown out even on nights where scoring is a chore.

                  • Coach Marshall would never have allowed that game to continue. I can't imagine 3G's reaction to a WSU team consistently putting forth that kind of effort for 40 minutes. I'd give him until halftime, but after 5-10 minutes of the 2nd half with that level of piss poor effort time and time again, somebody would have to die, or Gregg would take his own life. Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming BS (there are no less than 2 threads on whineydouchebags.com discussing the possible removal of Self if you can believe it) but that's what can happen when you've got a team full of kids worried about where they're going to be drafted. Insane talent is great, but there's more to winning sometimes.

                    • Question: if LOLoyola somehow also beats Boise St. today to improve to a solid 10-2, at what point do they start actually getting votes? Are we really in a season where Evansville and Loyola are good teams? Loyola might have won the Horizon this year. Even if they lose to Boise, I'm still impressed.

                      • Loyola won't start receiving votes unless they continue their hot streak and beat either WSU or UNI.

It's possible my sarcasm meter is broken, but I'll say this . . .

Loyola being a success would no more be a sign of Elgin's genius as their failure would be a sign of his idiocy.

Those belong to the university presidents.

                          • Moser is a good coach and an even better recruiter. Pretty sure he and Les may get some final laughs although I really like Ford and it's too bad he has whiffed on some guys he thought would be impact players.

If they were bad it would be his and SEXTOOONNNN'S fault. If they are good, the university presidents will say that was what they intended. The one defining mega genius move Elgin made was telling Marshall about WSU.

I have way more fun hanging things on Elgin than on some obscure conglomerate of university presidents/unnamed old people... Even if Elgin has nothing to do with it
