    • Tangentially related: SLU is off to a good start following a home win vs. Southern Illinois and a road win @ Indiana State. Below are their remaining games between now and our contest on December 6:

      vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 11/23
      vs. North Carolina A&T, 11/25
      vs. Mississippi State (neutral), 11/28
vs. TCU or Bradley (neutral), 11/29
      vs. Rockhurst, 12/2

Pretty good odds they will roll into town with no more than one loss, and there's a decent chance they will be undefeated. The atmosphere will be great no matter what, but a battle of unbeatens would be a lot of fun. Coach Crews seems to be doing a nice job with his young team.

It's gonna hit zero. There's just too many days left till Dec. 6th for that few of tickets to last.

I understand that. And I can get behind giving him some slack for that. But I don't think it should buy him a free pass until retirement.

            1. It has now been 8 years since that time. That's a lot of 'grace period'.

            2. A LOT has changed in the NCAA landscape since that time, and Elgin has not kept the Valley in the race. Would anyone else have done better with the cards dealt? I don't know. But it's hard to imagine someone doing much worse.

            3. Perhaps it was Elgin's nudge that convinced Marshall to come to WSU. That is now in the past. My current belief is that the standing and direction of the conference is the one thing that might convince Marshall to leave WSU. That is the current. Is Elgin doing anything about that now? There is no vision, no drive, no grand plan to improve the conference. This is a conference whose leadership plans an "Historic Announcement" to tell everyone that absolutely nothing is changing. This is a conference whose leadership instituted a plan to improve the league by mandating scheduling upgrades, saw it work, and then REPEALED the measures. I think that once upon a time Elgin had some fire and some drive to improve this league into a nationally relevant league. I think that at this time Elgin is just trying to keep enough ADs and Presidents from floundering programs happy that he can keep collecting a paycheck.

I hope the seat I bought wasn't the .596 seat! I'll be so pissed.

Ah, no I won't. Like I'm going to sit down anyway.

And two weeks to go, plus the potential "walk-up" crowd. This thing is basically sold out.

Don't tell the media, they'll convince everyone it's sold out and we'll lose out on the walk-up crowd.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

Maybe this time they will officially announce that the game has been cancelled and tickets will be refunded.
