I think that the shooting/free throw shooting is probably a confidence thing similar to what happened to Evan last year. They started the year not shooting well, they begin to press/try too hard, lose some of their confidence. I hope that it doesn't take them the entire year to get their confidence back. I think that they will be ok.

As to the free throw shooting this year, I suspected part of the problem may also be that all three players are on the floor far longer so far this season than last year, but after looking it up, that's not the case. Only Ron is playing more minutes (32.4 vice 29.4 last year) with Fred (31.8 vice 31.7) and TC (30.4 vice 30.1) very close to their MPG last year. Who knows why their FT shooting is down this year but I hope it picks up because, as the writer points out, that's nearly 5 points a game and those points will factor in some close games we'll have as the season plays out.Kansas is Flat. Baker wins 2nd MVC PoW of the year. http://www.goshockers.com/ViewArticl...CLID=209835767
"Baker, a junior guard from Scott City, Kan., averaged 19.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 blocks in a pair of Shocker wins over Drake and Illinois State to kick off the Valley schedule. Combined, he shot 65.2 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range."
Got that shooting thing fixed after the trip to Hawaii. Good things to follow, for him and the team.

I certainly hope they figure it out quickly because we need his scoring. As an aside to this and just an observation: Those Ill St guards are really quick and pesky.

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

I figured this belongs here:
WSU-Kentucky was the 31st most-watched sporting event in the country last year.... excluding the NFL and Olympics. Haha, so kind of random, but cool to see the Shox on this list. Interesting list all together. The NFL is king.

Yeah. 2 takeaways from that list. People really wanted to see Kentucky play last year. Also, our match up with Kentucky was more intriguing to the nation than the UCONN/Florida Final Four game. That's pretty cool. Oh, and I watched the replay of our game with Kentucky this weekend on youtube for about the 20th time. We played very well! Dang! What could have been.
If you haven't seen it yet, there is also an edited version of the game that just shows scored baskets. It's pretty good. I think it's about 9 minutes long. Pretty fun stuff. And you get the feeling that Greg Anthony is paid simply to laugh.
