With IU's basketball history, no football (wink, wink, nod, nod) Plus the ability to throw a base of $3m a year at a basketball coach; that type of coaching job doesn't come along everyday."Hank Iba decided he wouldn't play my team anymore. He told me that if he tried to get his team ready to play me, it would upset his team the rest of the season." Gene Johnson, WU Basketball coach, 1928-1933.

It's hard to believe that any successful coach who has a good situation right now (e.g., Smart, or Marshall even more so) would seriously give Tennessee so much as a second look. Little Pitino, on the other hand, has a magic name that might give him a honeymoon with the Rocky Top lunatic fringe.
